  We enjoyed the outside bbq grilles nearly every night. Found a great fresh fish market in Hanalei, called Hanalei Dolphin, behind the restaurant there. Close to the airport but no airplane noise, close to shopping in Kapa'a, fun pools here and next door. Passing in front of the hotel is a pedestrian walkway on which one can walk to a small commercial center for dining and shopping.   Yes, the place is old and run down, but if you're looking for a clean, budget-friendly place, it's fine. Great shower. We got a free upgrade to a room with a king-size bed, so that was very nice. The location is great. Very central and a short walk or drive to many restaurants and beaches. It is waterfront on a nice beach, but most of the units... что говорят » do not have direct views of the water. - The location is very good and on the beach which could be dangerous due to high currents but is very nice when the water is calm. The rooms are huge and kept clean. They offer free breakfast (some pastries, bananas, juice, coffee, and tea) which is very convenient to start a busy day on Kauai. We liked our stay in Sands hotel and will definitely go there again.

  A fantastic location (enhanced by our free up grade to an ocean view room - right on the beach with the sunrise in our window). Staff were great and the new introduction of a free continental breakfast was a great way to start the day. Why pay top dollar when you can stay in such a great place as The Islander ? - We were lucky enough to be upgraded to room 208. This a one bedroom suite above the lobby, that weirdly enough comes with it's own dedicated car space. It was a great room...spotless, well designed, had a great view of the ocean, and a comfortable bed. We only stayed two nights, and wished we could have stayed longer. For us, this hotel was far better than the Marriott Courtyard, which is located in the same area.
