  the location was spot on , for our stay , theatre and shopping, the staff deserve praise, they were very friendly and very helpful, they made the stya more enjoyable as we felt we were not just another face passing through.   I'd never stayed at The Athenaeum before but I will be back. Although I booked a standard double at a very deep discounted rate (typically this means getting the box room next to the staff quarters), I was given an apartment room which was really a suite.
