The Blakeny is a family run b@b,excelent value, spotlessly clean with a wondeful home cooked breakfast far more than one could possibly eat but irresistable. we chose tho stay here as we didn't want to be right in the middle of town. It' s a 25 minute walk to the Minster though there is a bus stop right outside if you want save your legs. The location was nice & quiet with hardly any traffic. The room was large, clean & comfy & there was plenty of nice food for breakfast. The hosts were friendly & helpful & were able to give us some really useful information. We will definitely stay there again when we return to york next year.

the B&B was very quaint, my elderly parents were in the converted stable. It was an adorable room, good size and the largest bathroom we saw in Great Britain. It had a little frig too and was easy for my father to use as he required a walker. My room was in the main house, up some very steep narrow stairs. Getting my suitcase up those stairs

My wife and I stayed at the fifth milestone for two nights. This was our first get away for a long time and i couldn't be happier with our choice. Staff were very helpful and polite. Room was immaculate and very comfortable. Also parking on site was a great bonus. Only 10 minute, nice walk into the centre. - The guest house was lovely and clean and the room was the same we were really pleased with it and will definately stay there next time we come to York.

Cannot fault our stay at all. I received a telephone call from Helen, checking what time we were going to arrive, and also advising us that the weather was very wet so to bring waterproofs! Jane was really welcoming and helpful with local info including walks and very nicely dryed our wet walking stuff. We had the ground floor room which was large, had big bed and great shower. Food was really good and Jane left us home made cakes when we arrived.Old building so could hear guests in room upstairs walking around so would chose upstair

Excellent 5 star accommodation with a warm friendly welcome from Jane and Simon. Breakfasts were delicious. The room had everything we could possibly need and was of a very high standard. Good walk recommendations (and maps) from Simon and advice of where to eat were much appreciated. This is the best b&b we have ever stayed at and is in a beautiful area with lots to do.

chris and sue were so friendly, our room was very clean, and full of character, the breakfast was great and plenty of choice, and a very friendy atmosphere, I recommend to anyone, the room had a hugh old fireplace which chris said they use in winter, I wish we had booked later in the year as a fire in the room would have been perfect,

Friendly hosts, great breakfast, beautiful farmhouse and countryside, good location for visits to local towns and places of interest. Quiet if you like to have solo time. But would also be good for a family or a couple. Well-equipped room. Reasonable rates. Good to be able to smoke in the garden without feeling awkward about it.

Great friendly welcome on a very wet and wild evening. Beautifully decorated room. Basket or teas, Horlicks and chocolate biscuits was a welcome surprise. Lovely group dining for breakfast, I don't like sitting alone so it was nice to sir with the other guests at one big table. -
