I found the staff to be very friendly without being fussy. The rooms are excellent and I can say this with experience as I have stayed on numerous occasions. The food is excellent. The hotel is located just outside Abergavenny good views of the countryside. I will be back ( If you are not full)

The guesthouse although old added to the ambience of the building. The proprietor could not have been more friendly, courteous and helpful he was a lovely man. The rooms were clean and all you needed for your stay. The breakfast perfect again excellent value and you couldnt have got better in a first class hotel. Will stay there again should I have to stay in Newport.

"Pava" is situated on the outskirts of Tintern and has lovely views and easy walks from the doorstep.
Tintern Abbey is a great place to visit, is quiet and peaceful.
There are excellent walk in the area that cater for every grade of walker.
The tree lined road from Ross on Wye to Tintern and beyond, out of season is a wonderful ride and in autumn

Our room (no.2) on the top floor had a lovely river and hillside view. Bed linen, room and en-suite were all spotlessly clean. The room was very well appointed including plenty of wardrobe space. Although we did not use it the honesty bar in the large residents lounge is a nice touch and looked well stocked. A good choice of homemade food for an evening meal was available, but due to a late lunch we did not have the opportunity to indulge. Opposite there is also a nice pub if you fancy a drink

Pretty much everything! The people were friendly and very welcoming. We arrived at 23:30hrs with 2 bicycles and they gave us the key to a secure room where we could keep them. The room was very comfortable and spacious, big shower, very clean and newly refurbished probably (?), plus the full English breakfast was indeed a FULL English breakfast

Top hotel comfort at a budget price. Small hotel spread over adjacent houses, but this was not a problem. Extreamly clean, very comfortable, everything worked. Best hotel shower I've ever had; fast flow, water hot from start. Full English breakfast excellent.

Hazel & Mike were great hosts. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I was trading at the Abergavenny Food Festival and Hazel gave me a flask of tea as she knew how busy we'd be which was a lovely gesture. She also allowed me to store some things in her fridge! Bedroom was cleaned daily. The location is fab - max 10m walk into town centre.

Really liked the live TV pictures in the bar of the stream, just a shame the Otters didn't perform for the camera while we were there! It was really peaceful and was just what we wanted. I loved the old architecture on the house, and how it had been refurbished so that it was clean and comfortable for modern users. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the toilet/bathroom was quaint, comfortable, and functional. I liked how close to the castle, high street, and tourist information area it was. My Husband and I stayed for two weeks in August 2013 which we enjoyed very much. Excellent location for us. Good size room, clean and quiet. Microwave oven in room, free wi-fi, free parking.
