A well kept hotel, lovely, helpful staff, a comfortable sleep and a great breakfast. Was very close to the main shopping areas and the playhouse which is why we chose this hotel. Very happy and would gladly stay here again. - The staff was very accommodating and hotel was well located

The hotel building was very impressive, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was superb and the food was excellent. Ideally placed for us, as we were attending the March & Rally for Scottish Independence on Calton Hill that weekend. The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. Loved the space the apartment had! Was more a house than a mansion! Also the facilities we had, dishwasher,washing machine etc and the fact they left us products to use facilities like dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, rubber gloves. -

Paul and Deborah were excellent hosts - very friendly and informative. The room was clean and comfortable, and housekeeping was excellent. Room including breakfast was a real bonus. The hotel is in a quiet area but still only a short walk to city centre. I have already recommended staying at Abbey Hotel to my work colleagues.
