  The staff were all excellent, very friendly and welcoming. We stayed for two nights as we travelled from leicester for a wedding nearby at crowborough on the Saturday. Our meal on the Friday evening was excellent, we had steak and the prawns. The cooked breakfast was just as good and the coffee too. Beautifully decorated rooms and clean, stylish ensuite bathrooms. Delightful pub with good food (good vegetarian option also). Friendly and helpful staff. Great location just 2mins ride from the Cuckoo Trail. Perfect stop over place on the London-Paris cycle route. Definitely recommended.

  House and grounds are delightful. The bedroom looked over to the Downs and we enjoyed an early morning view of both deer and rabbits grazing. The breakfast table looked out on to a formal garden with the hills beyond. Mrs Alderman was most welcoming and solicitous and went out of her way to accommodate our needs. Comfortable, peaceful and relaxing. Best full English breakfast my husband has had for a long time!
