  I can honestly say that the Oberoi Grand in Kolkata provides the best service we have ever experienced in a hotel (and we have stayed in many 5 star hotels all over the world.) This hotels serves as an example of how a hotel should be run. The location is also perfect.   I have stayed at a few of the older top hotels in Kolkata and found their facilities limited and pretentious and staff continually begging for tips. The Sonnet was wonderfully different, the staff were fantastically helpful, the rooms immaculate and the cost fair. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.   We had spent some time travelling around West Bengal for three weeks prior to our stay so the easy greeting and check in was great. All the staff that we spoke to seemed genuinely concerned about whether or not we were enjoying our stay.
