The hotel owners, an extremely friendly Italian couple creates a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast is delicious and has every day another surprise. Nice location, nice view from the room. Great personal,, actually the European owners are so welcoming that you forget every negative detail about the city or your trip. They give the best advices, arrange airport transfer and nice chatting in many languages which you may not find in elsewhere in Salvador. They try to find solution for all special needs.

Redfish is quirky in the best possible way: the artwork, the indoor jungle garden. It's small so you can get to know other travellers. The staff is helpful but not intrusive. The breakfasts are wonderful.
Salvador can be a bit daunting so it's good to be just on the edge of Pelhourino but only 5 mins walk downhill.

We enjoyed our stay at Pousada Colonial very much. We stayed only one night and wish we have stayed longer. The hotel is an old beautiful building located close (10-15 minute walk) to the historical center of Salvador. We loved bright and tasteful interior of the hotel. The room was beautiful and clean. We where a bit uncertain where to stay in Salvador given its reputation of not being the worlds most secure place... This Pousada is located about 15-20 min walk from the Pelorinhou which at first glance (we arrived late night) may seem a bit insecure. But that impression was wrong, the walk to Pelorinho is beautiful with interesting buildings and
