We loved the beautiful, tasteful decor and peaceful ambiance of the public areas of this hotel. These areas included an excellent restaurant and bar and a lovely reading room. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. The spa was fabulous. Three of our party had a massage, and each of us was pleased with the experience. The room was quiet and nicely appointed, although not as luxurious as some other five star hotels we've stayed in.

Laura and Raymond were wonderfully welcoming, as were their staff. We enjoyed getting to know them over drinks early evening, and they went over and above what B&B ownerz would normally do. Beautifully renovated historic home with a comfortable homey feel. Only 10 main walk to metro, lots of good eateries nearby. -

The Staff!!! Could not be more gracious without being intrusive...always professional, friendly and available. These folks know how to treat their guests!
Food was delicious. We dined in the Lafayette at least three times and in the lower bar late one evening.
The room, which was upgraded, was lovely, quiet and everything was fresh and clean.

Everything at the the hotel was top of the line, from the staff to the pillows. They gave new gym cloth in order to stay at the fitness center until it was time to go to the airport. LOVED the setup - new and fresh interior, comfortable beds, wonderful kitchen, everything for a classy home away from home. Concierge staff were excellent and the location was brilliant - easy access to the Metro, easy to walk to the Smithsonian Museums or the Capitol Building. Everything exceeded out expectations... - Mark delivered as promised. Everything was sparkling clean with all we needed for a great visit.. The staff was very helpful and the roof-top with views of the Capitol was a sweet place to relax while having dinner.

The common areas were quite comfortable and spacious. Rachel in the breakfast area was very polite and efficient. She could have used some help from additional staff on Sunday morning. On Monday, the manager was assisting her with keeping up with the food demands of the guests. The rooms were spacious, quiet and very comfortable.

The hotel is nice enough, but after reading the descriptions and reviews I expected something more. My room was quite big and very clean, but nothing that special about it. Maybe the Victorian rooms are more interesting. Garden, lobby and restaurant room are quite beautiful. Location is ok, can walk to major DC attractions, but it's not a short walk.
