Good location, very easy to walk to main shopping area and metro stations. The public bath is very good so we choose not to take bath in the bathroom of our rooms. We stayed three days and they managed three different breakfast courses, all of them very nice. Friendly frontdesk staff who can speak acceptable English. -

Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts served to us in the room each morning were wonderful - particularly the Japanese breakfast. Unless I have the cash to stay at a high-end Ryokan, Gojo is my favorite place to stay in Kyoto. The staff are wonderful and kind, but also almost all young Japanese living in Kyoto. They have great recommendations and are funny and helpful. They also play cool music in the relaxed cafe where a nice thick piece of honey toast and a hand drip cup of coffee are only 300 yen!

I liked everything about Hotel Almont. The hotel was easy to find as
long as you found the east side of the Kyoto train station. The hotel
was within close walking distance approximately 8 minutes while pulling
my luggage behind me. The hotel was extremely nice because of being
brand new. The rooms were modern and clean. Also, I really enjoyed using
the onsen. It was not large, but it was very relaxing. The price of a
twin room was very reasonable and I would recommend this hotel to any

The house and the "Kura" or old warehouse have been reformed
with taste. The surrounding of the house (japanese garden), the wooden
(cypres) bath, the whole of the facilities are amazing. You feel at home
but in the Japanese style. It is unforgettable. We will go again. Better
stay during the week than week-end (price) but it remains ideal to visit
Kyoto. We recommend at least 2 nights to really enjoy the house !
