Koyasan Onsen Fukuchiin - Fotos
O que as pessoas dizem
Unlike many other visitors to Koyasan we decided to stay two nights and to enjoy the temple lodging even more. Although it was still winter (snow and below zero temperatures), the room was well heated. All the other areas of the temple were not heated, but after being in the onsen this caused no problem whatsoever. We also joined the two morning ceremonies (at 6am), which were really interesting. The highlight of our stay was the food. As vegetarians traveling in Japan you have to look for trul. todos opiniões »
We booked a room with private toilet, so we had an advantage over the others. The temple is unbelievable beautiful. Everywhere you turn you just will be astonished about all that figures, beautiful rooms, relics etc. Also they have 3 beautiful gardens designed by a japanese star garden designer.
We participated in the morning prayer which was a totally new experience and i can recommend that to everyone. Also we took the calligraphy class. This was very interesting, but not beeing familiar with.
Fukuchiin was an incredible hotel in the most magical village. It felt like we had escaped from real life to be in this beautiful temple surrounded by trees and mountains. The rooms are your typical tatami-mat rooms, with breakfast and dinner (if ordered) delivered to your room. The food is delicious - all vegetarian and flavorful. Our favorite dish was the tempura (in dinner option #2 - more than enough food!) The baths are very nice (one outdoor, two indoor, and a sauna); we went about 3 time.
Everything! The hospitality, the Yukata and Happi coats, the team
ceremony in our rooms. Being served a 3 course vegetarian dinner in our
rooms. Polishing it off with a high-quality bottle of sake. Followed by
an Onsen. The facilities were great - they had the best hairdryers I
found in Japan during a 2 week trip (ion hair dryer). The futons in our
room, the heater, the snow overnight. The morning prayer ceremony.
The whole jolly-lot was a one-night full Japanese experience. Highlight of the en.
Very friendly staff. Remember when booking: This is not a luxury Ryokan, it's a temple that is (I think) family operated and there are zem momks. You can take part of original Japaneese temple habits like prayers and caligraphic sessions. The hotel is a real old temple and very nice. The Onsen (Spa) is smaller than expected. All rooms have air condition. There are vending machines to get warm coffee and cold drinks. Hot tea on rooms is free.
The breakfast was lovely - I could hardly finish it all. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. The location was fantastic - everything was within walkable distance and the room was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and spoke english very well. The morning service was great - something that was really different to everything else i experienced on my trip. The onsen was great on a cold night too!.
- An excellent experience if you want to stay in a traditional Shukubo (temple lodging) in Koyasan.
- Nice onsen, open all night
- Staff were able to speak good English
- Very good location, close to a bus stop and a few minutes' walk to the town centre
- The meals (dinner and breakfast) were delicious and served in my room.
This traditional-Japanese- temple-style lodging and its superb vegetarian meals are worthy of the price. The place is quiet and peaceful although it's only 5 mins walk to town and 15 mins walk to Okuno-in. Glad to spend a night in Koyasan. It's quite a long journey to get to this lovely small mountain town.
Traditional shukubo in Koya-san, easily reachable by bus from Koya-san station, perfect to explore the Koa-san temples. Facilities are great (big room, great onsens). Wi-fi access is possible in the common spaces. Staff speaks good English and is friendly.
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the bathing facilities were fantastic, the food (even though I don't usually eat vegan) was delicious and unique, and the historical temple settings was beautiful.
The place is beautiful and the staff were very friendly. The rooms were typical Japanese style including the breakfast, which is what we were looking for. It has a great onsen as well.
great experience staying in the temple, the meal was great and very interesting! overall koya-san is worth the visit! The outdoor-onsen was also very relaxing. also very friendly staff.
Very friendly english-speaking staff. We enjoyed the onsen and vegetarian dinner & breakfast. Bus stop from the cable car is in a 3 minute walk.
The location and the temple itself were amazing.
The onsen baths were great.
Staff could speak good English.
An experience in itself!.
The quietness, peace, cleanliness, the friendliness and helpfulness of staff. The quality of the food and the service provided.
Everything!
In my opinion Koyasan is one of the best places in Japan and Fukuchiin is perfect place to stay at.
The traditional nature of the accommodation, service and cleanliness.
The gardens were superb and enthralling.
Really beautiful place, looks very traditional and extremely clean. The breakfast was unbelievable good!.
nice outdoor onsen, very beautiful zen garden, limited internet access, specious room.
The atmosphere of the building is awesome.
The staff is really kind and welcoming.
Really impress in the peaceful environment of temple, forest and relax in onsen.
Environment is nice. Location is good. Staffs can communicate in
simple english.
great atmosphere, unique experience, quiet, beautiful gardens. Good English.
Staff was nice and professional
Food was excellent in presentation and taste.
The food was excellent and the rock garden was relaxing to look at.
- Beautiful temple
- Good food
- Big room
- Onsen
- Morning prayers.
Very unique experience since this is a working Buddhist monastery.
Peaceful atmosphere
Gardens
Praying with the monks in the morning.
The food was fantastic.
The onsen.
Onsen.
Great experience to stay one night at this special place. Nice outside
Onsens. Interesting vegetarian meals. All Koyasan sights are walking
distance and there's an easy bus.
The place was VERY pretty, especially the gardens, staff were friendly & some spoke English well.
The temple and its premises.
The Japanese style rooms are excellent and it worths the price.
well located from koyasan main street, nice garden and rooms very comfortable.
Outdoor onsen, food quality, location.
Clean.
Only patio.
The private toilet came with a quite bigger price to pay, but didn't provide such amenities as in the other hotels (soaps, comb, toothbrush etc). Beeing a temple and not a highend hotel this is not to be expected however.
Quite expensive experience (but worth it).
Nothing - the experience was incredible. We want to go back!.
The futons had just a half blanket on the duvets. I don't think, they clean them after every guest had used it.
The corridors were very cold, but the room had a very effective heater and the futon was super warm - so I never felt cold in my room :).
- Quite expensive (but felt it was OK for a one-off experience)
- Check out time is very early, 9am., and no way of checking in before 3pm
- Very poor soundproofing, so bring ear plugs or ask for a room in an isolated part of the temple.
It's pricey. Although you can clearly see this is a real temple with real monks, this is still very touristic... You have to pay for everything like seeing the monks do their writing, etc.
I loved everything, however it is about expectations. If you expect a memorable experience of spending a night in a wonderful Japanese temple, you will love it. If you expect a usual hotel, being able to go to your room in the evening whenever you like, eat what you like and behave as you like, I don't recommend this.
I thought the hotel was quite expensive (paid about 140GBP per one night), but it was totally worth it.
bit pricey! but you are funding the monks and all the temples, so its ok.
Gates close at 9.00 pm and you can't get in/out.
The tatami style isn't for everyone - it's very hard and if you suffer from backpain you won't enjoy it!.
Looks more like a business than a temple, quite over priced. The onsen isn’t special at all, it is an indoors onsen and quite small, the way the “hotel” is advertised makes look like the onsen is a big deal which it isn’t.
9 a.m check out time, feels too commercial for such a traditional occasion.
A bit expensive to sleep on the floor.
But it's Koyasan And it's a temple.
It worthes the experience.
The meal came very rush....feel like they want you to finish them asap.
late check-in time and early check-out but it is common in Japan.
Only shared bathrooms
No nets in front of window - so when you open window at night it attracts all kind of creatures in to room.
I didn't like how the hallway floor boards were creaky and made noise when people walk on them.
- Pricey (everything was extra)
- wifi only in 1 room.
A bit expensive.
It's really over priced for what you get. The hotel - like the
village actually - does not offer views from Koyasan mountain, so in
that sense the hotel could have been located in any village in Japan.
It always felt like it was an organisation running the place, with all staff having headsets & they knock on your door throughout the day and want to pack up your bed or give you tea or whatever, but you just want to be left alone.
shared bathroom, not used to this kind of breakfast (we couldn't eat it), limited Wifi only to a small room, overall expensive.
Even if the rooms were warm, the building was super cold. We ordered
breakfast at 7, but it came 6.15 and the futons were taken away at the
same time even if we would have liked to sleep until 9. The reception
called us many times asking how we will going to pay. The futons and
pillows were hard as rock, making it impossible to sleep.
Price/quality ratio.
Service.
From an overnight stay here remains the most shocking memory. For a month stay in Japan we haven't seen so indeffirent and rude receptionists. Was wildly cold in room. Food is disgusting. Don't waste your time. Find more pleasant place.
