The resident is very close to Florence, we had a rental car but did not use it because there was a bus station 100m away, took us about 15 min' to arrive florence's center. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help. The rooms are very large and modern and the breakfast is very nice. The b&b is about 15 mins by car into Florence or say 20 mins on the bus. There is a bus stop just outside of the accomodation. In addition we had a very nice meal at a restaraunt about 400 metres from the b&bB on the main road to Florence which was run by a family originally from Inverness.

We arrived there very late (11pm), and forgot to call the place and
notify them. We were very worried about unable to check in that night.
But fortunately, they left the keys and instruction for us at the door.
The cottage was super nice, with a pravite pool and garden. We really

Villa is perfect place for those that look autenthic experience in Toscana. Quiet, close by Florence, Pisa, Sienna... and after active day outside you may enjoy beautiful garden and view. We had quadruple room which is very comfortable. While some people may find anoying that staff do speak only Italian, we find it cute and enjoyed conversation :-

This is the most beautiful place my family and I have ever stayed. The
staff was absolutely wonderful! Very helpful and very friendly. We
stayed in room number 3, which was actually more like having your own
cottage than your common hotel room. No tv or phone in the rooms which
shouldnt be a problem for anyone because You are in Florence ! Get out
and walk around. We arrived at the train station and took a cab to our
room(€25). Once we arrived the staff told us about a bus route close by

We went to Venice, on a 7 day cruise and then we drove to Florence for a few days and stayed at Villa Poggio Ai Merli. Everyone was friendly, the grounds were beautiful, and the room was perfect. The grounds are gorgeous, rooms comfotable and meals generous. I don't speak a word of Italian but still managed to communicate well enough with the sisters. It's nice to end the day of seeing Florence's sights with an evening here - stay for a dinner one night too. The bus into town is about 10min walk - so take a taxi there from station (about 12euro) if you've got baggage then jump on the bus the other days. I loved it here.
