Excellent check-in experience, very good, competent service. The receptionist was efficient and anticipated all my needs before I even had to ask. She showed me to the room and showed me how to work the heating system and the television etc.

This is a truly unique hotel, converted from an old pottery factory. It has been beautifully done with great attention to detail. The rooms are luxurious and spacious and the whole place has a designer feel about it but at a very reasonable price. The owner, Marcos, is so polite and friendly. Being a biker himself he gave us great advice on rides in the area and where to eat. There is also safe indoor parking for bikes!
All in all it was a pleasure to stay there and we will definitely be going

We chose Stresa Residence for two reasons - (1) it was an apartment rather than a hotel and had a full kitchen; and (2) it was less expensive than most of the hotels we looked at as well. We were very happy with our choice. We ate all of our breakfast in as well as some of the lunches (with the kitchen and a grocery store a block away this was easy). This exquisitely renovated castle provides every luxury and is a great base for exploring the beautiful Barolo wine country. Nonetheless, the high point for us was the food.
