  Firstly the hotel itself is unusual both in appearance and location, a former toll office in a now unused canal basin. The interiors have been carefullly converted into a small sculpture gallery and top floor bedrooms whilst the small gardens to the rear are now in a Japanese style, with several ponds. Looking out on the canal was great, very friendly owner-family. Nice gallery in the building! We stayed an extra night because we liked it so much!

  We asked if there were tea making facilities in the room and as there weren't we were given another room with full facilities available at no extra charge. We were also pleasantly surprised by the bar prices which were on a par with local Restaurants - Welcoming, clean, spacious, comfortable, looked recently refurbished, enjoyable breakfast
