    The Kings Arms was an excellent place to stay. The bedroom was large, very clean with nice comfortable beds. The manageress (Molly) was lovely and did everything to make our stay memorable. The food was excellent, breakfast was very well cooked and served in a very attractive dinning room. At night there was a nice fire in the public bar, and the ... co mówią ludzie » staff were very pleasant - Nothing to dislike. Very quiet village. Food brilliant and service efficient. Very clean. Not too far from the Lake District or Scotland for that matter. We shall stay there again and probably as an overnight stay on our journey to Scotland. We will definitley recommend the Kings Arms to our friends.

    We very much enjoyed our stay at the Black Swan & found the staff very friendly & helpful, the atmosphere cosy & relaxing & the food to a high standard. The whole hotel was imacculately clean & nicely furnished. The location was in a small, quiet & picturesque village far enough into the countryside to provide good views bu... co mówią ludzie » t close enough to the main roads to be a good base for travelling into the heart of the Lake District. We would definitely stay there again! - Angie the owner greeted us and was very helpful telling us of walks in the area. Food was excellent and the bar had a lovely friendly atmosphere. The poached eggs for breakfast were superb. A wonderful place to break our journey on the way to Scotland could have done with a longer stay.
