  I would highly recommend Hostal Sonsoles. We had a double room with two single beds. The room size was decent (I've stayed in smaller ones in New York), and the bathroom was large (with good water pressure too). The building has a lift (elevator), although I found myself just using the stairs to get to the hostal.   This is a great place to stay as it's in the centre of Madrid. Great for shopping, museums, eating and close to the gay area.
