The staff was awesome! Raiza greeted us with a smile and surprised us
with an upgrade when we checked in. Mary at the breakfast buffet was
friendly and very helpful. Then Luis B. made sure we caught our
chartered bus back to Fajardo on the morning we checked out! Luis even

I like they way they treated us when the bathtub leaked when the shower
was turned on, and the phone in the room did not work. They moved us to
a different room when the above was brought to their attention. Before
we checked out we booked a room for one night (10/27) on our way
back home and was given the same rate when we check-in on 10/27 we
discover they upgraded our rooms to suites at no extra charge. The free
breakfast was excellent lots of choices. I would definately recommend
this hotel

The private beach was excellent, all the restaurants served delicious food, the casino was fun, the lobby was lively with bands, and the lobby bar made the best pina coladas. The pools were nice, but we did not use them due to the beach. The gardens were well

Everything. It is a family friendly, family run hotel in a great location in Old SJ. Can walk to everything. It is not hard on the budget. It is not a luxury hotel, so if that is what you are looking for, stay elsewhere. However, it meets your basic travel needs (clean room, good bed, clean shower) and for us it was perfect. Stay there!! -

Location was perfect. 5 minute walk to the beach - near La Concha Hotel. 75 cent bus ride will get you to Old San Juan. 15 min walk to Plaza del Mercado. Near bars, restaurants and a Walgreens. -
I liked that it was blocks away from Condado Beach and Ashford Street which is a super hot nightlife spot

Have stayed at El Convento many times over the last decade. It is an Oasis in Old San Juan which is an Oasis in itself.
The convenience to the City walls where one can walk by the sea and watch the ships come in is truly special. One can understand how peaceful it must have been when it was a Convent. -

The staff (Marlene & others) were delightful and extremely accommodating. The "Inn," which is more like a series of villas connected together was beautifully set - perhaps 10 meters from the Beach. The outstanding friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was
refreshing. They went out of their way to offer assistance and always
were accommodating. A delicious spread at breakfast was very pleasant in
the outdoor garden looking onto the ocean. I had forgot my phone charger
in the room and the cleaning staff turned it in; I received it when I
returned to pick up my bags later in the day. Overall, I give them the
highest marks in service, location and amenities. I will definitely be
returning

The hotel was very nice and inviting. The bar gives free drinks at
current times of the day. The hotel is steps away from the beach. When
you go to the beach the staff is there waiting for you and all you

Excellent hotel in a fantastic location. All of your needs are in a 5 block radius. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have ever had. Even if a tad pricey, the service was superb. The waitress Diana was out of this world. Her service was beyond excellent.
If you can, get a room facing the beach. It is worth the extra price. The view is spectacular.

Very convenient for our family. Traveling with my husband and 3 young

Staff was friendly, sincere & helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and perfect for my needs. Bathroom was also spacious and clean. The onsite burger restaurant was pretty decent for, well, burgers in PR (why have a burger with all the other yummy authentic options within walking distance?! :-)) Hotel is very close to good shopping, the historic points, and the airport is 15-20 mins away. Taxis wait 24/7 outside the hotel.

We were there one night and thought that it was a beautiful hotel with a lot of character. In Old San Juan and close to shops and restaurants and activities. Staff and owner very friendly and helpful.--Help carry luggage upstairs and downstairs. Owner says that plans are in the works for an elevator. We would stay there again.
