Beautiful atmosphere. Authentic traditional as opposed to modern renovation to look traditional, so don't expect top o' the range furnishings. The reception staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. The Japanese style breakfast was delicious. The restaurant staff excellent. Location great for easy walking distance to sightseeing attractions restaurants and shopping including the morning market by the bridge. Japanese style Bath/Spa is excellent. Taking off our shoes and using hotel slippers everywhere you walk inside the hotel. Our two pieces of luggage were carried up to the 3rd floor for check-in and picked up for check-out.

Very nice room and quite large by Japanese standards and the hotel is in a great town full of historic buildings and beautiful scenery. The hotel is new and well maintained. The staff are helpful. The surrounding area has great eateries and coffee- try the coffee at he place next to K's House - friendly people, good homemade food. And go to the Jazz Bar- truly great.

This is a well run cozy traditional Japanese-style hotel. Clean and surprisingly quiet tatami-floor rooms and two well-kept onsen (traditional hot baths) are excellent for relaxation. This is not a luxurious hotel but it is a great value for money for those wanting traditional experience. -

Great location stones throw from station. Good breakfast included. Comfortable room , long bath. Takayama, beautiful walks down old streets. Recommend the Heritage houses and pathway walk that takes you rounds the back of town past many small shrines ans along to the park.nice shops to buy gifts.taste of traditional Japan.

Being located at a certain elevation, I enjoyed the nice window view of the city with the mountains at the background.
I loved the 50% discount coupon of a nearby hotel quality onsen. I appreciated the shuttle sevice at 9 a.m. heading the town below. I liked the helpfulness of the staff though they seemed to be shy, like a lot of the Japanese. -

Its in the outskirts of Takayama, so really peaceful and beautiful place. Though Takayama is rather small. Only about 15-20 min walk from the station.
Comfortable beds, curtains around them as well for privacy amd keeping the light out.

We really liked the views from the hotel of the mountains and over the town of Takayama. The staff was very friendly and their English was good enough. Excellent hotel. We had a wonderful stay: beautiful public bath, spacious tradicional rooms with amazing view of the city. Extremely helpful staff although do not speak a lot of English. Breakfast was included and if was delicious!! As it is quite far away from the station they offer a shuttle free bus to the station at mornings.
They even gave us a traditional tissue as a gift!!
