We had a superb meal at the Hotel - The Grande Hotel Vesuvio is truly grand! It is an elegant top of the line hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. We were upgraded to a suite upon arrival and had two large rooms beautifully furnished. They supply their guests with comfy terry robes and slippers and nice toiletries. Wi fi was free. The rooms are kept very clean also. We had a balcony on the front of the hotel and looked out on the waterfront with its boats, a castle that is lit at night, and Vesuvius looming in the distance. T

  The hotel is well positioned - about a 8-10minute walk from town and bus/train station but therefore away from busy streets. The view across to Vesuvius is fantastic. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a sea facing room which was much appreciated. The buffet breakfast offers everything you could want!   This is not a "top of the top" five star hotel but the friendliness and warmth of the staff will compensate for any luxury you are seeking. Beautifully situated on the beach, and close to all the shopping, I found the staff and other guests to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was more like a family home than a hotel.
