  This is a very interesting property at the top of a mountain in the middle of some ruins. The hotel is updated with rather modern touches. Fairly comfortable overall. The view is the selling point and why I chose to stay. The restaurant on premises is also quite good.   A beautiful grand hotel, very well kept and high standards of cleanliness evident in and around the hotel. Great pools and thermal spas.   Breakfast was well above average and there was a lot of choice. It is a place to stay for a relaxing rest. You can easily walk into Monsummano and eat at authentic Italian restaurants. It is about a kilometre to the Grotta Giusti which is well worth a visit. If you want to get anywhere by train the station is about 5 minutes away. A complimentary map of the areawould be helpfull. All in all one of the best places that we have stayedin on our 6 week tour of Europe.

  Loved it and can't wait to go back. Very homely, full of character, spotless, truly Italian, loved the homegrown food and wine, and nothing was too much trouble - even a trip to the doctors.
