  Extremely friendly hostel right in the heart of the Pelourinho. The facilities are certainly a bit spartan, but the staff are overly friendly, speak many languages, and they assist you and advise you on all matters. The pousada has a very nice covered courtyard with coffee tables, a hammoc, and a pool table, as well as a sunny terrace with rooftop... co mówią ludzie » views. The rooms are very simple but spacious, clean and fresh. They also have fridges for keeping snacks or drinks. The view from the rooms is very - Location was excellent, in the heart of Pelhourhino. Even though accommodation reflected the historic nature of the buildings and area (basic and old fashioned) it added to the feel of being in an historic, authentic location. We had a room which adjoined a communal terrace with fantastic sea views and ideal for enjoying a late night drink.

  The manager was very friendly and helpful. The location is good, away from the central bustle and noise of central Pelourinho but near enough to fall part of it. The outside areas of the Pousada are very nicely maintained, with a good sized smimming pool and lawn area. My rook was spotlessly clean, with air conditioning, TV and fridge. We liked the location in the center of the old Salvador, it's easy and within walking distance of all interesting seeings. Great personal,, actually the European owners are so welcoming that you forget every negative detail about the city or your trip. They give the best advices, arrange airport transfer and nice chatting in many languages which you may not find in elsewhere in Salvador. They try to find solution for all special needs.

  Our overall experience in Salvador was amazing due in no small part to Pousada Redfish. From our personal welcome by Charles, the owner, to the helpful stuff, including Felipe and Martos, to the amazing breakfast each morning, Pousada Redfish is a true lodging gem. Showers were always hot and with good water pressure. The in-room safe was indispensabl - Redfish is quirky in the best possible way: the artwork, the indoor jungle garden. It's small so you can get to know other travellers. The staff is helpful but not intrusive. The breakfasts are wonderful. Salvador can be a bit daunting so it's good to be just on the edge of Pelhourino but only 5 mins walk downhill.
