  The room was amazing, the best hotel room I have stayed at, we ended up spending a lot more time in the room than I normally would when I stay at a hotel, it was that pleasant.   The 1669 is basically excellent. Rooms were spacious, with a large comfortable beds, and the bathrooms were large and well equipped. Breakfast was superb, all the produce was organic.   The hotel is beautiful. It is great to stay in a place that belonged to a famous artist - Samuel Coucke - and was restored with such love and care. The bathroom was large and very up-to-date with an amazing stained glass window that had been made long ago at this very house. Staff/owner was very friendly and helpful. The fresh breakfast was wonderful and all this was within a 10 minute walk to the main plaza. We wish we had booked more than one night and plan to go back the next time we're in Europe.
