  the independence ....i find some B&B's a little difficult to relax in ...really felt like we had our own space/ retreat....all be it in the back garden! Also the fact that you could book just 1 night ...on a bank holiday weekend nr brighton this is a rare find ...hence 'budget friendly' status! Friendly, welcoming and really convenient ...woul... hva folk sier » d definitely go back. - I was met with a warm & friendly welcome, and as a solo lady visitor, I felt completely safe and comfortable. The Studio was spotlessly clean and well equipped, and within easy walking distance to explore either the South Downs or the Town Centre. I would highly recommend, and I hope to return next September for a couple of nights. Thank you.

  Really enjoyed our one night here - exceptionally restful, though on this occasion hotel was fully booked (Glyndebourne season). Traditional atmosphere but far from stuffy, high quality muted decor throughout. Room was not large, but comfortable. Lovely garden right in centre of Lewes, and very comfortable, old-fashioned, public rooms.. Breakfast ... hva folk sier » - now unusually? - fully served, having no buffet to contend with unexpectedly restful. Friendly and helpful staff. - A fabulous hotel with exceptional historical character but very well appointed and with all modern facilities. A warm and friendly welcome and a lovely room with a view of the castle. With convenient car parking the Shelleys is perfect for staying in Lewes and exploring the town and local area. we enjoyed a great breakfast.
