The elegant studio rooms feature luxury beds and a flat-screen TV/DVD player. All rooms have a cosy seating area and work desk, and each has a private modern bathroom. Hill Road Studios each have a compact kitchenette with a microwave and hob. A welcome pack is also provided, featuring fresh coffee, fruit, and light continental breakfast items. With wonderful views across the East Sussex countryside, Hill Road Studios is just a 20-minute walk from Lewes Railway Station. There is free on-site parking, and Brighton is a 20-minute drive away.

the independence ....i find some B&B's a little difficult to relax in ...really felt like we had our own space/ retreat....all be it in the back garden! Also the fact that you could book just 1 night ...on a bank holiday weekend nr brighton this is a rare find ...hence 'budget friendly' status! Friendly, welcoming and really convenient ...would definitely go back. I was met with a warm & friendly welcome, and as a solo lady visitor, I felt completely safe and comfortable. The Studio was spotlessly clean and well equipped, and within easy walking distance to explore either the South Downs or the Town Centre. I would highly recommend, and I hope to return next September for a couple of nights. Thank you.
alle vurderinger » A quiet, comfortable and cosy place, great to get away from the big city life and relax. Just on the edge of South Downs, a perfect start for walks and cycling. Very welcoming hosts and all the small things you need for a comfortable stay - I particularly liked the fresh bread and the collection of books :). This is a studio based next to, but separate, to the owner's house. I arrived late, but everything was set up perfectly, with a mini kitchen and cereals etc for the next morning. Because I paid in advance I never actually met the owner which is a shame as I never got the chance to say thanks. Hill Studios is a great base for many activities around Lewes. The studio is very comfortable and has everything you need for a self-catering break. It is a great balance of having the freedom to come and go yet providing breakfast needs. Thank you to the owners for their hospitality. A very warm welcome, including assistance with our luggage which was very much appreciated. The studio had everything we needed, being fitted out with high quality fittings and beds. The self catering was a nice change, allowing us to get our own meals. Highly recommended. Perfect really...Good friendly service. Paul was most helpful. Room was spacious and totally detached which made privacy excellent. We used the B+B as a stopover for catching train into Brighton for the night. This worked very well, but it is 25mins walk from station. A clean and comfy stay in a great studio built to a high standard. We stayed so I could do the brighton marathon but I'd quite happily come back and stay and enjoy Lewes more. A warm welcome was given by the gentleman owner. Would like to stay longer next time. Hosts were great people and very interesting. Coomfort of furnishings and sence of space warmth and ventilation. Privacy, Helpfullness. Everything really. Note. Thomas Paine in Lewes Book is a very interesting read. Writen by Paul the Hotel Proprietor. The studio was well-planned and aesthetically pleasing. It was very well equipped with food, cutlery and crockery. The beds were comfortable. The owners made it easy for us to get in and out . The contact the owner had with us before the trip. The fact that there was everything we needed in the kitchen area as well as the rest of the studio was there - and worked and was spotless. Home from home - very well equipped - there really was nothing more one could have wished for. Comfortable. Very helpful owner. Will certainly stay again if I am working in the area. Self catering B&B, clean, modern design, comfy (twin) beds, very helpful for late night arrival (ferry late). Independence. the fact that the 'double bed' was just 2 singles pushed together! Though they were very comfy!. Nothing. I couldn't find a pen. If I had, I could have written a note to say thanks for such a great stay. Nothing. Slightly out of town but no big deal. The position of the TV in relation to the bed. I like to watch TV in bed and this was not so easy. I wonder if the TV could be possitioned on the oposite side of the room to the bed. The metal steps were a bit scary and there was nothing much in the way of a handrail. Or am I just being a whimp?. We thought the whole place excellent, The only drawback for us was that it is quite a way out of Lewes and the night was cold and rainy. We did not want to walk or drive in it. We solved this by getting a take-out which was advertised on the noticeboard. Slightly cramped bathroom. Nothing. The eco-saving shower; I didn't like the cut-out that then meant the water ran cold next time you pressed the button. Now my friend, who I travelled with, didn't have a problem. Nothing. Nothing. Bathroom a bit small, could see why though. Nothing. TIght parking and a lot of steps. Squeaky bed (2 singles put together), bit of a walk into town. cooking facilities restricted. Small bathroom. Shower but no bath. Shower a bit weak. Nothing.
