This is a tidy, clean and comfortable B&B with a very friendly and welcoming hostess. Breakfast offered nice variety compared to the standard B&B "full English" (I was able to forgo the beans and mushrooms and enjoy a delicious cheese omelette). The bed was comfy and the ensuite bathroom, though a bit small, was spotless and had a nice strong shower. Overall, a very nice place to stay and a good bargain. alle vurderinger »
We received the warmest of welcomes, room was beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished, very clean and exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast menu was one of the best we have ever had, all good! Although a fairly steep hill into the town on the way back we did it in a leisurely stroll and hardly noticed it. Would definitely recommend and if we return to Kendal Beech House would be my accommodation choice.
The welcome to beach House was warm and friendly.our accommodation was excellent comfortable with beautiful furnishings and a luxury bathroom which was spotless as the whole house was. The breakfast was very generous, delicious, and served beautifully in a lovely dinning room. We would not hesitate to go back to the beach house or recommend it to friends. The available parking for our car was a bonus!.
Lovely stay ,gorgeous house very welcoming . Facilities were excellent ,breakfast lovely, lots of choice.Very central just walk down the hill and your in the centre of kendal . Really surprised at the selection of shops and eating place. Will definitely be visiting Kendal and beech house again. The owner has a lovely warm personality and is very helpful .
Friendly welcome. Well appointed and comfortable room. Comfortable bed. Excellent en-suite. Variety of nibbles and drinks available on an honesty basis. Excellent breakfast. Initially room a little cold, but asked for central heating, and quick response.
The couple whom ran it were very friendly and helpfull and always cheerfull. The breakfast was delicious and definately set you up for the day. Room was comfortable and fine for our neeeds. Would stay again definately.
Excellent service from our attentive hostess at all times. Tasteful decor showing incredible attention to detail throughout the premises. Lots of extras, such as sherry, Kendal mint cake, chocolates, laid on in our room.
The house was gorgeous very comfortable and clean also very quiet location so no problems with noise at night. We also enjoyed the company of the other guests at breakfast as table arrangements were very homely .

Everything about Beech House was excellent. The breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and arrived lovely and hot. Our hostess Hilary is a delight. Always a smile and nothing was too much trouble.

Simply superb interior deco, shower area. So comfortable we were definitely reluctant to have to leave to do what we had planned to do around the Lakes area. We will certainly come again.
The owner went the extra mile to help us with printing off some pictures
for us to present at a meeting at no extra charge. The breakfast was

An ideal location to visit surrounding areas and lovely restaurants in the area. We stayed in the double deluxe (Penthouse) suite - very luxurious will definitely stay again.

This is not a knock in any way on Beech House itself, however it seemed to us good dining options for dinner in the town of Kendal are somewhat limited.

Wi-fi access was a bit of a problem even with range extenders installed upstairs unless you were in a particular corner in our room. Worked better in the morning, presumably when less people were using it?.
The only thing I can think of was the WiFi dropped out occasionally... But who goes to the Lake District to sit in the room on the Internet??!!.

seating arrangement at breakfast, would not have liked to have sat with other guests on the same table! It helped us with the set times for breakfast though and thankfully did not really affect us!.

A number of little areas had been missed on cleaning, e.g glass tops, dusty extremities, bathroom wires.

From the road it is easy to confuse Beech House with the house next door (and we did!). Not easy to think of a solution. The existing signage is clear enough on careful inspection but the weary traveller, happy to have arrived and looking from the car might need something that smacks between the eyes unambiguouisly.
