The 2 nights spent at Blythswood was enjoyable from the moment we entered the door into the foyer, due to the ambience and the reception received from the staff on duty. The rooms are very comfortable; the breakfast was exceptional - a very thoughtful array of fruits, cereals, etc - even honeycombe (what a treat) and the hot food was well cooked. Made even better by the pleasant manner of the waiting staff.
I didn't have time to use the Spa, but my friend did and she was very impressed. . alle vurderinger »
I've stayed here several times and love it! From classy sours, daisies and cocktails in the bar, to the whisky complemented porridge and divine haddock & poached eggs for breakfast, there's nothing to fault at Blythswood. Staff can't do enough for you and embody the friendliness and humor that make Glasgow Glasgow. The spa is amazing and free evenings and mornings for guests. I'd be very unlikely to stay anywhere else in Glasgow. It is definitely worth the price, which is actually very reas.
We stayed here on our visit to Glasgow for the MOBO Awards. Everything at this hotel was absolutely brilliant! From the lovely welcome from one of the doormen who carried our bags to our room, and continually spoke to us each time he saw us, to the décor, the marble bathrooms and the extremely comfy rooms. We absolutely loved our stay at the Blythswood and will most definitely return! By far, the best hotel in Glasgow.
Blythswood is a well run luxury city hotel with everything you would expect -friendly & attentive staff, beautiful room, good bathroom, a very pleasant bar with large windows overlooking the Square. Its position just around the corner from the main shopping mall meant we were spared the noise, but not the convenience of close lively facilities.
The warm friendly staff made my stay very enjoyable. They were attentative and helpful with suggestions for dinining options outwith the hotel. The SPA was a godsend after a long flight and the staff were very helpful and professional. The food was excellentand I can highly recomend the specialist grilled steaks. Thank you.
This is a gorgeous hotel, the staff are very friendly and efficient. The room was lovely, with a beautiful marble bathroom and huge bath! The bed was really comfy and the room was spacious. The spa in the hotel was the best I've been to and the thermal experience was just heavenly. I would definitely go back.
Location is perfect, not too far from main tourist sights and not to close to them. The rooms are gorgeous, modern design, they are big enough, with huge and soft bed, marble walls in the bathroom (by the way, there are both bath and shower stall). The personell is attentive and polite.
Lovely room with very large bathroom, as we were given unexpected upgrade. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Close to City centre and easy to find from train station. Enjoyed designer surroundings and luxury feel of hotel. A great place for a treat.
The staff were very friendly and gave us excellent service. Best we have seen. Hotel very stylish. Huge comfortable bed. Parking pricey but car was available in minutes after asking. We were not allowed to take/fetch it from the parking lot ourselves.
As parents of four small boys(2yrs-8yrs) we appreciated this luxury break given to us as a Christmas gift from parents. The spa was just fantastic and our room was luxurious - with not a child in sight! We will make this an annual break! Thank you.
Everything from the room to breakfast. All staff were helpful and professional, couldn't do enough for us. The room was beautiful, the spa treatment was luxurious and Thermea spa amazing! I would love to return for more luxury!!1.
Our room was stunning. You could open a screen so that the bath was part of the room and from it you could see the tv. Spa, dinner. room service breakfast and cocktail bar were also fabulous!! All staff were very attentive.
We got upgraded to a delux room because it was my partners birthday ,so that made it even more special for us ,the staff would do anything for u. The spa was out of this world will b back again loved everything about it.
The staff was the best we had on our trip after a long trip from the us
it was just what we needed. The beds were so comfortable. The food was
great. The front desk staff was more then helpful Just loved this place.
The staff were excellent and helpful and the location good. Breakfast buffet very good and the bar and dining room areas very pleasant.A lovely building that was originally the HQ of the Scottish RAC.
We had a wonderful stay , the hotel is unique with its mix of traditional and modern features.the food is fantastic, so is the bar. It's location is central and close to everywhere. Highly recommended.
Stayed here a few times and has never disappointed, beautiful hotel, with fantastic facilties and in a great location. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful a real treat staying here love it!.
I thought the reception area and restaurant looked very luxurious.
Bed and bedding luxurious...
Fantastic staff especiLly ladies in bar & restaurant (megan). We were made to feel very welcome!.
Rooms were very comfy and facilities were excellent. We stayed for 2 nights after our wedding and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Will definitely stay again.
Absolutely perfect stay. The room was stunning, the staff were attentive and the spa was wonderful.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It's truly luxurious and beautiful.
Lovely hotel that offers quality in all areas, restaurant is a little expensive but the food is excellent. When next in Glasgow I would defiantly book this hotel again.
Everything! The food was superb, the staff were brilliant and the rooms and facilities fantastic. We will definitely be back and will recommend it to everyone.
Friendly, polite & helpful staff.
Even though it is a 'top end' hotel consideration is fairly given to all customers on any budget.
Comfortable ambience.
Dog Friendly hotel but £30 per night was top heavy price wise.
Excellent deluxe room
Excellent staff in all areas.Restaurant food very good.We could not.
This is a very good hotel, staff is friendly and helpful, facilities are new and designed. Room is wide and comfortable, foods are delicious.
Excellent location - very close to Willow tea rooms, Glasgow school of Art & shopping area in Buchanan Street. A very comfortable hotel.
Fabulous staff - super friendly and not at all stuffy like many 5 stars in the US. Great rooms, fantastic beds and wonderful location.
Beautiful comfortable rooms
Very friendly staff
Worth a visit to Glasgow to stay in this hotel
Definitely use spa facilities next time.
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Great location.
Fast wifi. Quiet. Good restaurants & bars nearby. Excellent cocktails.
Loved the spa facilities &
treatments.
Beautiful upmarket hotel very clean .
Breakfast staff were very friendly & hands on.
The friendly and efficient staff; the big, very comfortable bed in a rage, quiet room with plenty of storage; the spa; the food.
Staff very helpful. Arranged a restaurant booking for us. The spa is also excellent. Very relaxing. Breakfast was superb.
Central location few steps to the main shopping street, nice and clean rooms, very good restaurant with nice waiters.
The spa facilities were amazing. The food in the restaurant was top quality, one if the best fillet steaks I've had.
The spa is worth the money alone. The room is spacious enough for a wee classic and the bathroom is very luxurious.
Upgraded to a junior suite - room spacious with good views.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Food good also.
Fantastic facilities in a beautiful hotel, great base for shopping if
you can tear yourself away from the room.
Friendliness and professionalism of the staff.
Comfort of the room.
Ambience of the bar and surroundings.
Staff were really friendly and appeared very genuine, this was our best hotel experience in a long time.
Spa excellent
Bar staff and restaurant staff particularly good
Roon small-ish but modern and comfortable.
We liked the warm friendly service and the fantastic rooms which combined modernity with a classic look.
Lovely, central location. Very nice salon level...great for afternoon tea or drinks before dinner.
Excellent accomodation in deluxe room. Friendly staff. Lovely
cocktails.Good spa facilities.
Staff were lovely - they even managed to find a walking stick for my 82 year old Mum.
We are regular visitors to your hotel for the simple reason we think it is the best.
the welcome of the staff and their helpfulness and knidness throughout our stay.
The staff were excellent the rooms were beautiful and the food was too die for.
The friendliness and efficiency of the staff even when dealing with complaints.
Everything about it, was a lovely city centre hotel with a relaxed atmosphere.
Staff were excellent food was superb and the hotel had an excellent Ambience.
The only 'niggle' for us was the very large black lampshades in the bedroom which we felt made it feel 'murky' - however, this is down to personal taste rather than a criticism. Also, more hooks in the bathroom would be helpful but, again, not a real issue.
Nothing.
The only thing we were not too impressed with was the full Scottish breakfast. We ordered this and were presented with; one sausage, one rasher of bacon, one haggis portion, one black pudding, one tattie scone and two (absolutely perfect) poached eggs. Priced at £16.50 on the menu I feel that this was very over priced for what you get and the bacon and tattie scone were over cooked. On the plus side, the Continental breakfast was superb!.
Be aware if you are navigating by GPS,it puts you in the lane way behind the hotel and you have to go around the block because of the one-way street system.
The stay was too short!.
The only thing I didn't like was that when you put all the lights out in the room at night, all the electricity was off, meaning you could not charge your phone over night. We did not realise this until we put the lights back on in the morning.
I waited for my breakfast for too long .
A glass wall between my bed and bathroom seemed a bit strange.
Spa smallish and a bit dark, although very stylish! Also thought prices for treatments were quite expensive.
Difficult to read in bed. Although there were six lamps in the room, they gave off very little light due to the heavy black shades. Best lit part was the bathroom!
They ran out of kippers for breakfast on two mornings.
Food was excellent, but see comment about breakfast kippers.
Having to go home after one night!.
Nothing!!.
Nothing - I liked it all.
Nothing.
No complaints.
I found the room lighting poor and the need to keep rebooting the TV set annoying. (we experienced some power cuts during our stay).Recently renovated to a high quality standard with extensive dark brown marble- it looked good but I found the heavy sliding doors to the shower and toilet area impractical and the marble floors slippery when wet..It makes me wonder if the interior designers ever try out these rooms!.
I didnt think the sinks were very practical, especially for shaving. No plug! Couldnt really see sink to be clean as brown marble. I must say i prefer white.
Waited a bit longer than would have liked for food in The Salon bar but that may have been due to the time of day.
Nothing.
What's not to like??.
No onsite hotel parking was a bind especially as the on street parking outside the hotel was £3 per hour!
Bathroom in room 100 was cold and unheated.
Need more information and instruction for the spa services.
Our room was on the street and was a little noisy but that is to be expected in a city hotel and it didn't interfere too much with sleeping.
Room slightly cramped with large bed. No hand rails for towels in bathroom.
Our room was on the top level
405 and with the hot weather
(even with the A/C ) the room was extremely HOT!
Our seaweed bath treatment
no-one was around to explain to us what to do & where to go
therefore we missed our 1/2
treatment got 15 mins.!!.
Poor lighting in the bedroom (at check out we were told that a lamp would have been provided but there was no mention of this in the folder in the room; nowhere to hang towels to dry or keep warm; spare toilet roll on the floor by the toilet - in a 5* hotel! and the advertised dressing gowns were not provided,.
Can't think of anything!.
The receptionist charged my card at check-in with 460GBP, even the amount for the rooms was only 272GPB.
There wasn't really anything I didn't like but if I had to put something down it would be the use of the spa could be anytime. Your quite limited.
Breakfast was a little dry and there was zero view from our window just a wall!.
Having to keep an eye on the parking meter.
Food was at best average and not in keeping with what I expected nor the
prices charged. However being in this location there are many fantastic
retaurants on your doorstep.
Didn't have enough time to visit the spa (not their fault!).
Rooms were modern in design but small and dark.
Lighting was limited to one overhead ceiling light and two beside lamps with low wattage bulbs.
Advertised as a spa hotel but residents still had to pay outwith certain
hours- you shouldn't have to do that . Spa areas should be checked
more frequently to remove water bottles etc.
Having to pay extra for porridge - why is this not a standard item - you are in Glasgow after all ?.
Nothing.
The noise of the lift late into the small hours and then again early doors.
It was a bit noisy with traffic outside our window (room 320) in the early hours of the morning.
