Beautiful room, comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Very friendly and helpful hosts with good recommendations if you don't know Ambleside very well. Very accommodating when we asked for an early breakfast as heading out on an early outing, we then had the cooked breakfast the following morning and it was the best meal we had in Ambleside all weekend! We booked two rooms as we visited with family from overseas. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodatingThey provided us with many tips on the area. My parents liked the place so much they went back to stay again a few days later. Perfect location and lovely breakfast. Would definitely recommend Ambleside and this guesthouse!.
Excellent location in Ambleside, right in the heart of a great outdoors-oriented tourist town surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Extremely helpful proprietors - couldn't be nicer - even "baby-sat" our dog. Good breakfast too. There is a big beautiful dog park about 5 minutes walk away, and a nice waterfall 10-15 minutes by foot.
The room was nice and comfortable. Our tea supplies were refilled for our second day. The heating was on and the radiator could be adjusted from off to max easily. Breakfast was great, and it was very nice talking to Simon. Fantastic locations nearby, including a beautiful waterfall in a forest just 10 minutes' walk away.
Comfortable guest house. Bedroom nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. En suite a little on the small side.....but adequate. Delicious breakfast with very generous portions.

The owner (Simon) was very welcoming and helpful. Our bed was very comfortable. The guesthouse provided an foc parking permit because we couldn't park on site.
The location was good for what we wanted to do however, signposting could be improved somewhat.

The parking is a bit tricky, but at least there is parking, for free, or you can park on the street right in front until 11 AM if you can get one of the spaces.
Driving up to the private parking is not for the inexperienced drivers. Take a look in Google Street View and keep in mind that you have to reverse up, since it's a one-way street. I should mention I quite enjoyed the challenge though.
Parking could be a problem for a less experienced driver. However there are public car parks close-by.

The mattress in the room we stayed in was very uncomfortable. It was clear the springs had gone, and it meant that we both slept feeling like we were about to fall out of bed.
