My stay at Andon was a real bliss from the begining till the end. First, the hotel is very beautiful: the design is a perfect balance between traditional japonese objects/setting and contemporary architecture/colours/furnitures. So if you tend to be a 'design conscious' person, Andon is the place to be.
For a very reasonable price you can have the opportunity of tasting a bit of the japonese lifestyle. Another major asset of Andon is its staff: a nice bunch of delightful ladies, always ready t. alle vurderinger »
This modern version of a ryokan is a great mix of new and traditional design. The four women staff we met were delightful, spoke English, helped with directions etc (thanks, Yuka). Rooms are small, of course, but there was a place for everything. Shared facilities were good quality, clean and well-supplied. Good breakfast choices, and teas and good coffee on demand. Quiet neighbourhood to see real Japanese life and 10 mins to metro for easy access to tourist spots. We enjoyed the experience an.
The staff were so welcoming, kind, and hospitable! It really blew me away after the so-so reception we had received at the hotel we stayed at previously. We were made to feel so welcome as soon as we walked through the door, and it didn't end there. Wonderful place to stay, would definitely go stay again. Traditional Japanese inn (my first), loved it. Handy location, easy walk to metro. Great breakfast, really nice inn. Very clean and comfortable. Sad to leave and wished we had stayed more than.
Andon Ryokan is a very nice place to stay. Staff is very friendly and helpfull, everything is very clean, rooms are simple but clean, beds are good, there is airconditioning. In the shared bathroom everything you need is there like shampoo, showergel, toothbrush etc. You can take coffeeand tea as much as you like. After 10.00pm you have to be quiet for the other quests. Breakfast was also very good. We had a very nice stay!.
Andon Ryokan is one of the most cozy places I've ever stayed in. The owner and her staff are extremely friendly; the room and facilities are very clean and comfortable; and the hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood. I also love the traditional design of the room.
Andon is located just a few minutes' walk from the Minowa station. It's also very close to a few Japanese eateries and convenient stores.
Very traditional look and feel with old style Japanese flooring and roll out futons. The staff are soo friendlyand make u feel at home right away offering very inexpensive classes on Japanese arts like origami and sake tasting or traditional tea ceremonies. It was a real experience to stay here and was one of th highlights of our trip.
It is a very nice ryokan with very friendly staff. The best thing are the roof-top tables, where you can sit and enjoy some snack and the view. There is also free tea 24h on every level. And coffee is available at the reception free of charge. The hall is very cozy.
Staff extremely nice and helpful. You feel very welcome in their lovely reception area.
Jacuzzi needs to be booked in advance, was very nice.
Room is small but comfortable. Bathroom is equipped with everything, as far as razors and toothbrushes.
Sleek, modern vibe to this classic and comfy ryokan. The blend of old and new was excellent and the place feels clean and welcoming. It was also great to be able to come back at any time during the night with a keycard to re-enter the building.
The staff were great and breakfast was very good. It's an unpretentious spot and not expensive by Tokyo standards. If you are staying more than a few days the room size could be a problem. Room s are really tiny.
The staff at Andon were amazing! Friendly, helpful and very interesting
to chat with. Beautifully designed Ryokan, with comfort and style to
match the best of Japan. Would definitely stay again next trip...
A wonderful place to stay. It is a 5 min walk from the station. The staff were very friendly and provided many good tips for places to visit. The breakfast is very good value and made to order.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfasts each morning.
And the jacuzzi is such a great luxury as you can book it for private
time. The rooftop had great views of the city.
Traditional experience
Great location
Flexible Guidelines
Fun & free events
Great staff
Best sleep I got during my entire 7 weeks traveling abroad
Clean & soothing Japanese bath.
Staff were fantastic, very helpful with excellent English. Price is reasonable, very quiet location.
Thanks for let me showering in jacuzzi room as I request early check-in.
good value for the price, nice staff
opportunity to rent bicycle.
- Traditional japanese rooms, ryokan style
- Very helpful staff.
The staff were really friendly and helpful
Great breakfast
Seemed like good value for money compared to a lot of places we looked at in Tokyo.
Friendly staff, super clean, nice interior design, room gets cleaned and towels replaced every 2 days.
execellent Breakfast in relation to the price.
Very friendly staff. Great Jacuzzi. Good and cheap breakfast.
My only concern was that there was only one shower for nine rooms on our floor.
Nothing.
Nothing at all. I like everything about it!.
Rooms are tiny with very little space left after the beds are roll out. Very relaxing space though and great value for money.
The room was quite small and dim. And the bathroom was shared and tiny. The tea ceremony is not included in the room price and has to be paid separately.
Nothing.
The area was a bit distant from Tokyo hotspots, but nothing a subway or two couldn't fix.
The bathrooms are shared. However we never had to queue to use them and they were always very clean.
The location is a little north of the city center, but it's marked
on the subway map and not too hard to find. The bed is traditional so if
you like them firm, you're all set.
Relatively Small
Not in a major prefecture of Tokyo
Early check out.
Rooms are small.
No.
dont like shared bath but I knew it before and chose it for financial reasons.
Not much space! The rooms were pretty small and the dining area felt very cramped when all the guests were sat down for breakfast.
The were beds and blankets are far to short and the rooms to small for a person taller than 180cm. I couldn't sleep well for a whole week. Stay away if you are tall.
A little crammed. Not much room to place luggage once the futons are laid out. Would have liked more hooks in the room for hanging towels.
Difficult to locate cramped rooms, echoes in room tiny shower stalls,
barely enough room for elbows very unromantic we took the hit and
checked out 2 hrs after checking in to stay at another hotel.
