Friendly staff, some of the most fluent English we encountered in the
country. Hotel was separated by gender which felt safe. Bathrooms were
clean and came with shampoo/soap/etc. And they gave you
toothbrush, body towel and washcloth, plus pyjamas. Locker on the
bathroom floor is a good size for backpack but big luggage is left in
lobby area, which made me nervous but we left our bags there for the day
even after we checked out and they were fine. Good location, only a
block from busy shopping . alle vurderinger »
It is very clean, very efficient. Definitely recommend for a night, to
experience the capsule hotel concept.
Location is very good, very central. Have Nishiki market, Nijo castle, Imperial palace visit for that day, all in walking distance. (Imperial palace needs online pre-registration).
The bathroom has a Japanese hot water tub, that you can use after showering.
They provide towels, pijama, toothbrush, shampoo.
Wifi is reliable and fast, however it is only available in the lobby.
There is a .
Very clean facilities, modern, futuristic style! Felt like it was out of a movie
Convenient location right next to major shopping area, tourist attractions, convenience stores (Kawaramachi, Nishiki Markets)
Easily accessible by buses
Friendly and helpful staff constant available
Surprisingly spacious and comfortable capsule! It has an alarm system and power outlet.
Fast WiFi
Felt safer for women as it was gender-segregated
They were happy to keep our luggage even after checking out while we wen.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Their English was good. They
let us keep our bags there before and after our stay. We liked the
design of the hotel and the system, which was what attracted us to stay
there in the first place. There is a changing area with a locker
specific to your bed containing towels and room wear. The showers were
hot and powerful and the shampoo smelt nice. We were given clothes that
we could use for sleeping.
Wanted to try capsule life and It was a good experience. Design great, slept well. Place is clinical but staff are still very friendly and helpful. I understand it would mess up the design but even a hidden area where you could make tea/coffee would be good! Location excellent and would stay again.
this is a fun experience and ok when it comes to price. When your a couple its fun for a night, but you may be able to get a 'normal' room for a similar price. The location is great, hotel is clean. I would bring some ear plugs as it may be a little noise, but what else to expect in such facilities.
Futuristic design like spending the night in a 1970s sci-fi flick. The beds are surprisingly spacious and comfortable, and the light-based alarm clock is more pleasant to wake up to than a loud buzzer. Luck of the draw, but nobody near me was snoring or pacing back and forth so I slept soundly.
Unique hotel experience. The entire hotel is very modern and clean and the capsules are suprisingly spacious and comfortable. Plenty of storage options for baggage and great bathroom facilities. Free Wi-Fi use in the lobbies. Great location, 2 minutes walk from a major shopping area.
This capsule hotel is a true Japan only experience. It is cheap,
centrally located and despite appearances comes equipped with everything
that a traveler needs.
If you are looking for just a place to sleep at night and shower in the morning then they don't come much cheaper than this.
friendly staff, very good situated despite a short footwalk from the metro station. Perfect for shoppers as located next to the market streets and restaurants. well-designed, very good looking capsule hotel. German speaking employee made the introduction easier ;-).
Really cool place, totally different to anything else. Nice to get a bit
of peace and quiet after stopping in dorms for 3 months! You even get
some cool(ish) pyjamas and a toothbrush!! Also a massive bath, great for
chilling although it was not very private.
Very modern design capsule hotel. Clean & comfortable. The staff is
friendly. Just 3 min walk from the main street & convenient for bus
transport.hotel area a lot of shopping place & night life. Must try,
the most special capsule Hotel in japan.
A fun experience at a great price. This is something you only find in Japan, and it's an attraction as much as it's a place to sleep. The location is perfect. The size of the capsul is actually larger than it seems.
The design and concept of this capsule hotel were really interesting,
and the location was very central and convenient. The facilities were all
kept quite clean, even with the high churn of guests passing through.
Design was exceptional! Fantastic staff and great experience (I stayed
in another capsule hotel and this one here was waaaay better). I
recommend to anybody traveling around Japan as a great travel
attraction.
An excellent experience! We stayed there for 2 nights and were impressed with the facilities. Location is fantastic, staff was kind and informative. I actually had the best sleep there.
Great.
Very clean, good as an alternative to dorm rooms, great showers, fun for one night only. Really liked the alarm which wakes you up using light and no sound.
It is the best capsule hotel where I have stayed in Japan. The location is good. It is close to the fish market and Gion. The subway is 10 min walking.
No frills, great for capsule hotel experience. We only stayed one night but can see this being very useful for budget travellers.
Highly recommend to low budget solo traveler. great location, easy transportation possibilities to all Kyoto sightseeing spots.
I like it. Easy for everything; shopping, sleeping, sightseeing. Good
design Safty.
this was a very good experience, located just off the main shopping road in town.
detailed design of both sleeping and restroom floors were good.
Unique experience. Excellent location.
Great to have bicycle rental service.
Excellent location. super convenient!.
The hotel was very clean.
its an experience!.
Almost everything.
comfortable bed.
Staff !!!!.
Design.
It didn't feel like going to sleep, but rather it felt like getting on a trip to far outer space, a bit like 2001 Space Odyssey.
Very clean.
Friendly, English speaking staff.
Free wifi in the lobby.
Good shower/bath facilities.
clean, and cool decor, feels like being spaceship in the capsule. staff speaks reasonable english.
New experience.
Great location.
Helpful staff.
Beds weren't very comfortable, I think the mattress was thin.
Pillows were buckwheat which I personally find uncomfortable as well but
is common in Japan. The shade to pull down and cover the opening of your
pod is good for privacy but it leaves you in a heat cave! If they added
ventilation, something like the small air jet at your seat on an
airplane in there, it would be great. There is no wifi on the sleeping
floors, only in lounge areas.
Bed is too hard, really not comfortable.
You have to check in and out (take stuff out from your locker) every day even if you stay 2 or more nights. They can keep your bags at the lobby though during the day.
The sleeping pod has 1 power plug only.
It takes some time to figure out how to switch off the light completely, but possible! (Push "sleep" after switching off the light).
The screen at the entrance to the capsule wasn't very soundproof, so be careful if you have snoring neighbors!
Also make sure you're prepared to leave your main luggage bags in the foyer; there's a small personal locker on the bathroom floor though.
As I'm a light sleeper I was easily woken by some other guests who
came in at 4am and the sounds of people around me, like phone alarms.
Our floor was only about 20% full so I could imagine it would be even
more difficult if filled to capacity.
as mentioned by several others, you need to leave your luggage in the lobby, but it feels safe and there is staff to look after it 24/7. As long as your prepared and make a little 'stay over' bag for your stuff you will be good.
Going to the bathroom involves walking through a common area. Shower and dressing area feels like a gym. These things come with the capsule hotel territory, of course.
The need to check in and check out daily needs to be taken into account.
But since one can check out in the morning and can check in until
midnight it was not a big issue.
Nothing.
If you have a problem with claustrophobia, you might wanna stay somewhere else. Or if you have a problem with people snoring. Earplugs are recommended.
You should also be aware that men and women sleep at different floors.
Being a capsule hotel, there isn't a lot of space for your
belongings. Even if you're able to fit your suitcase in the locker,
it's on a different floor from your capsule, so you have to be a
little strategic about where you keep your things.
Not so great if a couple as we had to sleep on separate floors and internet was not available on the floors so could not contact each other. Worst pillows ever. Men's level apparently very loud snoring and all used loud alarms in the morning. Women's floor was much quieter, no alarms (used vibrate or light). More expensive than the Piece Hostel and I preferred that as it had brekki and super comfy beds. Would stay at the Piece Hostel personally.
Check in and check out every day.
The experience and the fact that its comfortable and private.
you should be prepared that there is no private area. Space are shared. Getting yourself a pair of earplug for nice sleep is a must.
i stayed here for 3 nights, only one night i could here snoreing, but it was not realy a problem just something you should be aware of.
noise isolation is a big problem in sleeping tubes and air conditioning (when you close the curtain, it gets hot and when you open it, it gets more noisy.
Audible chatter from other capsules at night.
If every capsule installed tv will be perfect, such as the one located in Osaka.
It doesn't look much like the photos ie not as minimal or design orientated as i would like it to be but i suppose it has been a few years since it first opened.
But for solo travelers its a good option.
The beds were a little too warm.
Little lockers, no place to dry cloth.
lockers too small.
No problem !.
Luggage stored separately from the room.
it felt like a rater impersonal experience. I felt like I was in Playtime.
Expensive.
Beds are uncomfortable.
No wifi in the capsules.
Lots of noise from surrounding capsules.
Can only leave your luggage in the lobby.
No possibility to lock your valuables during the day.
not for staying over 2 nights in a row...
On the first day, a drunk guy puked all over the place where we sleep. But, the Hotel Staff moved all of us to another floor.
Bed is not very comfortable. Had to sleep above the covers to be comfortable.
feels crowded
no soap in bathrooms
no internet in rooms.
