Both private and dormitory rooms are available at Khaosan Kyoto Hostel. All are non-smoking, air-conditioned and have shared bathrooms. Kawaramachi Subway Station and Kyoto Takashimaya Department Store are a 2-minute walk from the hostel. Yasaka Shrine is a 15-minute walk. A flat-screen TV with DVD player is provided in the common area. Microwaves, electric kettles and other equipment is available in the free-use kitchen.

It's really a nice and fancy place to stay for backpacking, and they regularly hold some gathering and activities with the native and local university students. For accommodation, the private room is small, while already enough and sweet somehow equipped with aircon and bunk beds, and the best thing is wifi around the whole building, then you can surf internet without squeezing yourself in public living room. Staff there are quite friendly and useful with good English enough to communicate. An.
alle vurderinger » The Staff was super friendly and helpful. They know the city very well and give hints how to move in the city. They also have maps and you can buy tickets directly in the hostel that you don't have to be bothered with it in the metro station or bus stop (very convenient). The hostel is clean and quite during night. They have a huge common area with kitchen, laundry and living room with tv. Additionally it is located in the very city center. I recommend it for tourists and backpackers! :). The staff was fantastic and the new lounge was the perfect place to mingle and meet new people and make connections. The kitchen was well-equip and spacious enough for everyone's things. The cleaning system they have going keeps the entire place super clean at all times. I loved my time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone who looks to visit Kyoto. Ihe staff and other visitors were so friendly and the large common areas made it very easy to socialise, while the tradiational style of the room reminding you of the amazing city you're in. It's well worth it. Loved it. The front desk also assists with sightseeing and transport in the city which is very useful to a backpacker. Very clean, nicest hostel I've stayed at. They provide you with shampoo and body soap. Lots of free computers to use, they have a large staff and clean from 11-2 every day, you know things are clean! Every bed has a curtain and reading light that has an outlet to charge your appliances with. Also a little shelf. the location is perfect: the shopping stores and some famous spots are in the walking distance, the bus/subway station nearby can reach to almost any places; the female dorms are prepared with "female only" rest room & shower room, which is very kind hearted for female solo traveller. Is near to the subway and is in a great location, it have all near it. It's clean, it have a lounge/Kitchen for know now friends and the staff is really friendly and helpful for every problems, and is VERY cheap....Higly Recommended! I miss you Khaosan!. The room was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. Spoke english very well and help with everything they could. This is my second time staying at Khaosan, the location is so convenient closes to subways,shopping, sightseeing and eating you name it. Location is good. The wifi didn't work very well with my Mac, but that might just be my computer's problem. Although, it doesn't work at all in the rooms because of the metal door. They are very strict about check in times, even if you're just moving rooms, you have to be out by 11 and don't get your new bed until 3, you would think they would try to work with you a little bit... All the computers are at Japanese style tables (you sit on the floor), which isn't very comfortable if you need to use it for a long period of time. When staff starts cleaning at 11, they're not very quiet for people that are still sleeping in the room. can not connect to wifi in the room, only get connected in the public area; no breakfast is provided, it will be great if Kyoto style breakfast can be offered.. How can you don't like Khaosan... The room was a little bit small but we managed :). Room is very small but we managed nothing to complain about. The hostel isn't very close to Kyoto station, so for getting in and out of the city it can be annoying. The walls might be a bit thin, we heard the people in the next room making noise very late at night. (But that might just be bad luck for us...). They have a rule that the check in time is at 3pm. So before that you can not go inside your room. But they have a luggage storage so you can keep your luggage there until you wait for your check in time. Nothing, it s perfect. Room was narrow, but affordable. None. Rooms are small, but you know in advance what you get. We will repeat. There could be a queue for the shared bathrooms during certain peak hours of the day (especially at night). The rooms are a little small but I guess I can't expect too much. The mattress wasn't the most comfortable but it was ok. I would have preferred to stay closer to the Kyoto train station for convenience if one travels a lot by train. Nothing. Nothing. The wifi is not so stable. And the hostel somewhat smells moldy though it's quite neat. I had a hard time finding it the first time. The room was clean but somehow there was a damp odor. However, when the A/C turned on, it got much better. Small room. Not easy to reach by bus or metro from kyoto station. Room very small, wifi didn't work in the room. We were charged a lot for paying our accommodation bill with our credit card. We would have popped out to take money out at an atm, but the staff told us that ATMs were closed. When we went out after we had already paid, we discovered that ATMs were not in fact closed so we wasted precious travel money having the pay the credit card fee all for nothing. very difficilut to find it, too many people in house and less privacy. Nothing was bad. very small room, rules and regulations. Bed too hard for my liking and wifi signal is weak inside room.
