  We wanted a place close enough to the Vatican City, metro and bus stop so we can eat breakfast in the morning and not come back until we were done enjoying Rome for the day. This is just what we wanted. Nice place, no luxuries but with great staff and outstanding service. Fresh espresso/capucino in the morning with continental breakfast. This was a last minute booking and I lucked out finding it since it was extremely busy in Rome on that weekend. I was very pleased with everything.

  Small boutique hotel with Italian Renaissance decor. Updated bathrooms, though small by American standards, had many unique features not usually seen in hotels in the usa. The owner, Roberto, is professional and takes great pride in the attention to the details of the hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Very near top attractions and local cafés. We booked two single rooms and sometimes in the past we have been allocated tiny, substandard rooms. The rooms at the Celio were charming, clean and the location between the Colosseo and Laterano was fabulous. This was the first time we have ventured out of the Trevi/Tritone area. (We go to Rome each year over past 15 years and this experience was one of our most enjoyable. Grazie Roberto!!
