Short/ bus ride to city center. - The facilities offered were excellent. The apartments were 200m down from a large supermarket, so cooking in the apartment was made easy. The apartment is not close to the centre of Florence but is easily accessible by bus number 22 from the train station and centre of Florence (about 15-20 mins on the bus). If taking the bus there ring ahead and ask the staff exactly where to get off!

Florence centre is very complicated for driving and doesn't have free parking places for non-residents.   We stayed in the apartment for a week and we enjoyed it very much. We had the studio.It has everything necessary-kitchenette, microwave, fridge, cutlery, what we really appreciated is that there was a washing machine in the basement and you dont have to pay for it extra.   We were impressed by maps and useful information of the city given after checking in at the hotel by a hotel staff. The hotel is few steps of walk to Duomo. To our knowledge, there aren't many public toilets available in Florence. Even though the breakfast isn't included, the unlimited amount of drinking water and cup - We were presently surprised to discover that there is a little kirchen in our room so we were able to prepare our favorite hot instant comfort food!   The staff is WONDERFUL, kind and helpful. The location is perfect, It was quiet at night, but still very close to all the action. There was a living room area just off my room where you could meet up with other travelers -with a small fridge. I will return to La Cittadella on my next trip and highly recommend it to anyone else visiting Florence. The owner - The hotel is lovely. The room is warm and spacious. The bathroom is big and also has a heater. The desk staffs Teresa and the other guy are very helpful. The hotel is very secured, about 4 locks before you can enter. The lift is reliable. It is also 20 meters away from the bus stop Guido Monaco where you can easily take buses to Sta. Maria Novella and other destinations. There is also a Turkish restaurant and various cafes 20 meters away from the hotel and a Tabacchi store by the bus stop.

  I have to say I was a bit nervous staying here after reading a lot of bad reviews but as most of Florence was booked out- we went ahead with it. There is a laundromat downstairs- so close to every attraction! - We really enjoyed staying in Locabndo Gallo. The staff was excellent. They are extremely friendly. They gave us very good suggestions for places to visit and dine. You should definitely follow their suggestions. The hotel is also located on a very convenient place, it is just 15 min walk form main train station and maybe 10-15 min walk from touristic places. The room is like you can see from the pics.
