I have to say I was a bit nervous staying here after reading a lot of bad reviews but as most of Florence was booked out- we went ahead with it. I dont understand any of the bad reviews- the room was so clean- there was a mini bar, the street is so safe, there was no noise from bathroom plumbing and the lady running the place- is so helpful and friendly. There is a laundromat downstairs- so close to every attraction!.
alle vurderinger » We really enjoyed staying in Locabndo Gallo. The staff was excellent. They are extremely friendly. They gave us very good suggestions for places to visit and dine. You should definitely follow their suggestions. The hotel is also located on a very convenient place, it is just 15 min walk form main train station and maybe 10-15 min walk from touristic places. The room is like you can see from the pics. Excellent location, 10 minute walk from everything. Rooms were beautiful, modern, clean. Staff was not fluent in English, but communicated well enough. They gave us a map and were very friendly. Would definitely recommend, or stay again. The owners are amazing, full of good tips and extremely kind. the room was clean and quite big. the geographical position excellent to visit the city. we spent two wonderful days and will come back for sure. great location, not far from the Duomo, and about 5 min walk from San Marco. Cleanliness is good, staff is super friendly, and, wifi signal is way better than most hotels in Italy!. just 10 min walk to the city center with helpful, smiling and good English speaking staff. You feel the spirit of Florence with the old building. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Location was within walking distance of the main attractions and the train station. The bed is not really a double but two individuals put together, which is not nice when you are expecting a real double. We liked the quaintness of the room but this is not a b&b. It is basically a room in the middle of Florence. The pillows could be fatter- the flatest pillows I have slept on. Florence is a very noisy place at night- but not the hotels fault as it is the whole city. No lift, had to carry bags up 2 or 3 floors. Reception desk closes at 1pm - if you arrive later you must call in advance. Not easy access if you travel with young children with trolley (no lift, 3rd floor). There is no elevator. that means if you are not traveling light, those tiny stairs might be a problem for you. This is not a specific problem for the hotel but mosquitos were terrible. This is how you pay your depths to Arno :). The dust under the bed, which is where we were storing our travel bags as the room was a snug fit for four. No elevator but the guy of the house helps you with the luggage. The guest house is located at a quite old building No elevator available Too expensive for its facilities. Staff was not in place around 12:00 pm for check in, we had to wait for her 1 hour, which is a pain specially after landing into the city. Our shower was broken. The facility is a little run down and needs some maintenance work to be done on it.
