  Ballykine Guest House was the former home of the Guinness Family (who lived in Ashford Castle for centuries) Gamekeeper. In 1939 the Family moved back to London/Dublin and gifted the lands and buildings to the government, which decided it didn't want to be landlords and sold off parcels. Ann Lamb's father purchased the house and adjacent land in ... hva folk sier » 1940 and she was born there. She and her husband converted it to a B&B/added on over 30 years ago. The settling is lovely, quiet and very green, - The location was beautiful and our host, Anne could not have been nicer. The house and each room were beautifully kept and exceptionally clean. Anne made a full Irish breakfast in the morning, that included freshly baked breads and scones. The breakfast room was set in beautiful linens and porcelain dishes. Highly recommend the place. Close proximity to Ashford Castle and the village of 'Cong', for all 'The Quiet Man' enthusiasts.
