  The location is tremendous! I travelled with my wife and another couple. We spent 3 nights here to start our trip then rented a camper van to travel the country for a week. OK Hotel is on the best main tourist street in the city. It's just a 2-3 minute walk to all the stores, several good bars and restaurants, the main chapel, and maybe 10 mins wa... hva folk sier » lk to the city center. That being said, we stayed out late (some bars are open until 0600) on a Saturday night and the hotel is far enough removed tha - Everything went very smoothly - there's no one physically on reception, just a telephone to ring for details of how to get the key etc, but we had no problem arriving at midnight and there was always someone on the other end of the phone if we needed help or information. Very accommodating letting us leave our bags somewhere for a while after check out. Very well equipped kitchen with crockery, utensils etc. and we appreciated the fact that there was already tea and coffee available. Excellent

  The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful, and they make you feel right at home. The facilities were great too (fully-equipped kitchen, hot showers with tub, and free laundry facilities). Generally, I think if you travel alone and don't want to cram into a 16-bed dorm, it's a good place to stay with abundant space and good host to talk with.   We arrived some hours before the estimated arrival but just a few less minutes after a phone call, the host showed up and were friendly welcome. The guest house was unattended due to the fact that we were the only guests at that time. We had a "Double Room with Shared Bathroom" (for 75 EUR/night) and the pictures on the website do match with the o... hva folk sier » n-site location. The private water boiler was absolutely clean. There are enough private parking spaces available - even they are somehow shared toget - I recently stayed at the Harbourfront Guesthouse for two nights on a business trip. The proprietor (Orri) is very friendly, he catered for all my needs and offered an excellent level of service. The guesthouse is modern and clean and offered very good value for money. It is situated within easy walking distance to two or three exceptional restaurants by the side of the harbour and is just metres from the bus station for travelling to Reykjavic or further afield.
