  I'd like to start by saying what wonderful owners the couple who run Smáragata Rooms are. They are very friendly, welcoming and will do their very best to accommodate your (reasonable) needs. The property is in a sleepy, quiet residential street but is by no means in a bad location - infact, it's excellent. The bsí bus station is literally around the c - Iceland was fantastic! The countryside was unique, and we especially enjoyed the Golden Circle tour, and the Blue Lagoon. Our Smaragata 1-bedroom apartment with kitchenette and private facilities was close to the city bus terminal, and an easy 10-15 min walk to the city and major attractions. The owners were friendly and very helpful.

We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent.

  Very nice hosts! We felt really great at the place. It was clean, modernly designed. The room was big and the bed comfy :) Internet was working ok. Possibility to use the kitchen, breakfast was good. 5min walk to the city center and the BSI bus station. - Wonderful host family! And the room was very spacious.

One of the owners proceeded to put the duvets and pillowcases on the bed while we chatted with her, just as a friend might do with a house guest. Edda and Runar very helpful in general when I needed to find somewhere in the city or arrange anything.
