  Upon arriving at Hotel Rio Amazonas, it was as if we had come upon a castle in the middle of a bustling city! It has the look of one with the turret and the exterior wonderfully created. Location is excellent - my main reason for the original choice of staying there, which I did on four separate occasions, using Santiago as a hub for travel to all points of the compass.   The location is excellent, just off Avenida Providencia. There is a park entrance for hiking at the Parque Metropolitano just down Juan de Valdivia. There are two or three great restaurants right across the street, metro stops and bus stops very close by, and the tourist office a couple minutes away where you can make reservations for tours. The location was incredibly convenient and there were so many restaurants / shops etc around I did not have to go far if I wanted something. The breakfast was really good with quality food and variety. This was the best accommodation I had in all of South America - very modern, everything in the apart

It was clean, nice, it had a heather, warm-water, great wi-fi.
