  We had to cancel our original two nights hotel booking in Banff due to the Hwy 1 road closure caused by the disastrous flooding. We had to change our itinerary and travel through Red Deer to get to Jasper/Banff. We were so glad that we booked into The Hidden Ridge Resort instead (the hotel previously booked and cancelled didn't have a vacancy on t... hva folk sier » he new dates)! A beautiful mountain cottage/chalet setting with a stunning view, a spacious and very well equipped one bedroom apartment was a nice ch - The view from the hot tub and warm pool. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. The condo was lovely too! The kitchenette was a great thing to have to cook our own food and the BBQ was very nice to use. The inexpensive long distance phone fee was awesome as was the free parking and free shuttle bus into Banff (not to mention the free coffee and hot chocolate in the lounge/lobby all day)
