  Prachtige lokatie, uitzicht over de zee. We kregen een upgrade naar het 'Crows nest', erg leuk! - Breakfast was great meeting other travelers from around the world, very casual and relaxing.   We stayed for 3 nights in February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Terrie (the owner) is very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of the local area she provided us with lots of information about what to see and do - and there is quite a lot, stuff you don't read about in the regular travel books. We stayed in the Ohana suite which had a very c... wat mensen zeggen » omfortable bed, kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and portable stove top. Everywhere was very clean and the accommodation is in a very peaceful lo - It´s perfect! Our suite was comfortable, clean and cozy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! (Fresh papaya with other fruits and yoghurt, and freshly baked bread or muffins). Location is absolutely wonderful, very tropical. Wifi worked great. Pahoa is a good base to start many excursions, even though it´s on the rainy side of the island.

  Absolutely gorgeous rainforest setting, lovely back garden that was a pleasure to stand and take in. Incredible location (be careful to follow the directions that the owner sends, to the letter). Perfect for exploring Hawaii Volcano National Park and we also found it to be a nice halfway point to return to from trips up to Kona in the west and Mau... wat mensen zeggen » na Kea via Hilo in the east. Very comfortable furnishings and bedding, and the fire place was greatly enjoyed after long drives and cooler days.   Eric, the owner, is an extremely friendly and sympathetic guy. Normally he rents out the complete house as a retreat center to groups. When there is no group booking, then he rents out the 6 apartments(each like 80 qm size) in the house to tourists. Living there is more like being at home then being in a hotel. There is no room service and other h... wat mensen zeggen » otel like stuff, but free WLAN all over the house, a kitchen, fruit trees in the huge garden... We stayed there for 8 days and had a great and relaxed - Everything! Eric, the owner,gave us a tour so we would know where things were. We had a 2 bedroom suite with lanai and bathroom for $90. Unheard of value. Laundry was down the hall and free with detergent and softener provided. There is a well stocked kitchen for use by all guests. Very quiet and pleasant place.

  This place has a some kind of a charm that might not be obvious at first glance. It felt like living in a real Hilo, not just a random hotel that could be the same anywhere in the world. It`s not shiny and new but clean, comfortable, peaceful and taken care of. Open lobby was great with nice view to the garden and the sea. Everyone was very friendly - Loved this place, Highly recommend staying here, very relaxed cool place to stay. Awesome friendly staff, especially Dave!!! Thanks heaps for showing us all the cool sites to see like the waterfalls, black and green sand beaches, with the turtles, 4x4 track near the cliff and blow hole jump, wow too many to mention, just ask them when you get there.
