  I appreciate the hard work each staff member put into making the facilities clean and beautiful, with a friendly atmosphere. And, it's close to a great smoothie shop!! Parking was affordable and beaches accessible with an enjoyable walk. - Location; price; size of bed and size of room; very clean; but the best thing of this hotel is the old lady ... wat mensen zeggen » singing during breakfast. That was the best description of what aloha means... Very good initiative!

  Uncle Billy's has character! Lovely central garden and great view of it and the bay from the breakfast area. I love the papayas at breakfast time. Very pretty lounge. The free hibiscus blossoms are a nice touch. Coconut Willy's was our beer hangout. I really enjoyed the slack key guitar playing by Ben Kaili and the malasadas made by Baker Tom. Enj... wat mensen zeggen » oyed sitting on my lanai. Liked being woken by birds around 5:30 A.M. And I soon learned not to mind the coquis at night. And I love Banyan Drive. - Great breakfast with lots of fresh fruit - serve yourself. Close to airport & convenient to everything in Hilo. Room was comfortable & clean. Staff was friendly and view from room was beautiful - nice garden & ocean view It is an older place - not modern but good value for the price

  The location cannot be beat close to the beaches market and shops. It was like living in a botanical garden beautiful plants flowers and amazing pool. Walking down the pathway from the lobby to the beach was like walking thru a sweet little jungle ... I loved it! The Kona Islander Inn is like a gem in the middle of town. I will stay there again a... wat mensen zeggen » nd will recommend this to my family and friends. - The room quality ranges from 1 star to 5 stars, each with increasing price. It would be helpful if this were advertised on letsbookhotel.com. Luckily the hotel had a better room available than the one star unit we first saw.

  This place has a some kind of a charm that might not be obvious at first glance. It felt like living in a real Hilo, not just a random hotel that could be the same anywhere in the world. It`s not shiny and new but clean, comfortable, peaceful and taken care of. Open lobby was great with nice view to the garden and the sea. Breakfast was relaxing a... wat mensen zeggen » nd every morning, we enjoyed watching geckos on the walls. Wi-fi in the lobby works perfectly and laundry comes very handy. Everyone was very friendly - Loved this place, Highly recommend staying here, very relaxed cool place to stay. Awesome friendly staff, especially Dave!!! Thanks heaps for showing us all the cool sites to see like the waterfalls, black and green sand beaches, with the turtles, 4x4 track near the cliff and blow hole jump, wow too many to mention, just ask them when you get there.   We stayed for 3 nights in February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Terrie (the owner) is very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of the local area she provided us with lots of information about what to see and do - and there is quite a lot, stuff you don't read about in the regular travel books. We stayed in the Ohana suite which had a very c... wat mensen zeggen » omfortable bed, kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and portable stove top. Everywhere was very clean and the accommodation is in a very peaceful lo - It´s perfect! Our suite was comfortable, clean and cozy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! (Fresh papaya with other fruits and yoghurt, and freshly baked bread or muffins). Location is absolutely wonderful, very tropical. Wifi worked great. Pahoa is a good base to start many excursions, even though it´s on the rainy side of the island.
