  We exited the taxi and were welcomed to the Four Seasons with a lei, which we expected. A porter took us to the check-in desk at 11:00 A.M. where only one girl was working. The check-in girl snapped at the porter stating she was already serving someone. Dave came on the scene and checked us in and walked us to the elevator answering all our quest... wat mensen zeggen » ions. Our room was upgraded and ready. We were able to charge our ipod, ipad, iphone 4, iphone 5 all at the same time. I cut my finger on the razor in - The staff were very welcoming from when we first arrived. Throughout our stay we were recognized and equipt for with no trouble. All staff were brilliant at remembering our names which was very impressive. Everyone had their role to maximize the fine detail around the hotel, the design was beautiful and the lay out was very nice. Rooms were spacious and homely. I would definatly recommend this hotel.

  Excellent location and the suites were very nice. A spectacular breakfast spread every morning which was delicious. Neither of the main restaurants impressed me much and we actually ate at the Four Seasons (Duo and Ferraro's) twice each. Also ate local food elsewhere. Depends what you are looking for but this resort seems to cater to couples or fa... wat mensen zeggen » milies with very young children, not teens. Grand Wailea has crappy rooms but lots to do, Four Seasons is great but pricey and a bit stuffy so this is - Absolutely amazing. Everyone treated us like we were the only guests. The check in, bellboy introduction and resort services all made the fairmont an experience to remember. I wish I could have stayed longer. Everything around the grounds were immaculate. The rooms are huge,clean and very well appointed. It definitely felt like paradise. Restaurants were great. Service at Ko was exceptional. There were so many loungers and plenty of grounds and pool space that you never felt crowded anywhere.

  Beautiful grounds and a setting with an ambience of the old Hawaii. The restaurant is excellent. We have been to Maui many times but had not been to Hana. We booked the Travaasa Hana for one night because it was the one nice hotel available. After arrival, we decided to extend another night and that made the experience really special.   Loved the adult infinity pool and that our room was a few feet away. We had an awesome oceanfront room that was very close to the pool. Children of all ages were well catered for and hence adults were able to enjoy the location and amenities and relax, I especially loved my visits to the adults only pool.   The staff and guests just seemed so much more pleasant and approachable than other resorts we visited in the area. The location, beach and quiet were ideal for us. We visited the Four Seasons, Andaz and Grand Wailea and just felt more "at home" at the Makena. Good size rooms, very comfortable. Shuttle service was quite convenient to move around Makena and Wailea. Free bikes (for 3 hrs).   This is Hawaii's Hawaiian Hotel. We had a room on the main floor, garden view, room 178 (smoking outside). It didn't face the large area of the garden, but it did have a small garden outside our room. We enjoyed it more because it was secluded. You could see the ocean through the trees. Many lounge chairs on the grass area and under trees. It is a 5 m - The Ka'anapali Beach Hotel is built upon traditional Hawaiian values and friendliness. The staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel sponsors a cultural enrichment and community give-back program that encourages its employees to honor their Hawaiian culture and to participate in community ventures. I was particularly impressed with the children's passport activity in which each child is issued a passport with their Hawaiian name. My daughter loved going to the various places, telling her Hawaii

Since then there has been quite a bit of development of other hotels in the area since then but there is still a feeling of space because of the surrounding golf courses. Access from pool to sea is excellent.
