Safe and easy walk to both Windermere and Bowness. Food was unbelievable. Huge choice and excellent quality. Dining room is modern and there was a good atmosphere at breakfast time. Staff were efficient and friendly. Our budget room was clean and cofortable. Perfect for our stay. Limited parking on the premises but lots of free and unrestricted parkining across the road.

  the friendly nature of the hosts, the wonderful information they provided both in a written and verbal manner about the area and the breakfast - wonderful - The guest house was central to where we wanted to be. The friendliness of the owners. First impressions and facilities were excellent.

  My husband and I booked the Virginia Cottage for our 2nd Wedding anniversary. On arrival we were greeted bu the owner who was very friendly and welcoming, he took his time to explain where everything was and took us up to our room to show us around and also told us where to go for something to eat etc. I don't particularly like staying in guest ho... wat mensen zeggen » uses/B&B's as I feel sometimes it can be a bit old fashioned and flowery (I have had bad experiences) but no way did this place make me feel that - The location is brilliant, the cottage is quaint and beautifully Cared for,the hosts and welcome Very good.The facility of having Car parking good,help from host with luggage appreciated.Big snag was not having been told that our room would be at the top of the house even though I had emailed to the effect that my partner had a disabled badge for Breathing problems,however he did manage but with difficulty,if we had known about this hazard we would have had second thoughts,even so we were

  We found the hotel to be lovely and comfortable and very tastefully decorated and had a very warm welcome on arrival. The breakfast was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome!   The owners and staff were very welcoming and ensured that we had a veryenjoyable stay. In fact we had such a lovely break we extended our stayby an extra day! Pool was excellent as the weather was very wet duringour stay we made excellent use of the facility. First class break.. - Our room was spotless and the pool was great. It was really nice to relax in the pool after a long day walking and enjoying the activities and beautiful scenery of the lakes. The breakfast was delicious. I will be recommending this guesthouse to all our friends and will definately be going again. The owners are really nice, we had a great time.

  Worth every penny - a fantastic small hotel It snowed heavily during our stay and the staff even cleared the snow from our car - We stayed in the Bowness suite and it was beautiful, we could not fault a thing at this place, will return soon

  Gill and John were so warm and welcoming, we felt as if we were visiting a friends home. The full English breakfast they cooked for us each morning was fantastic! Our rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The location was ideal for walking into the shopping area of town and close surrounding areas. Jill very helpfully arranged the taxi for us when we were leaving. - Everything from the cosy very well decorated room, warm hostess who was extremely helpful in finding activities and transport info. The location of the hotel is perfect, just a minute away from the lake. Breakfast was very nice and the access to the SPA at the Old McDonald is the cherry on top. We really felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel.

Although we stayed there in summer it wasquite cold and wet but heating was available all day if we wanted touse it.   After reading some negative reviews about this hotel I was really not expecting much at all. How wrong I was. My two children (age 4 & 8) and I stayed for 1 night. The staff were friendly,helpful and lovely with my children. The food was delicious. The pool was a little cool but still enjoyed to the full.We look forward to our next visit. - the staff members were awesome they looked after our requirements of the menu as my wife didn't want what was on the sweet menu, they said no problem. she asked what do you like and they made it happen. wow impressive the chief was out standing in the presentation and taste of all the food we had. we really recommend the food top class at reasonable price. just like to say thank you for making our weekend special we will be going back
