  This was our first trip to Edinburgh. We were hoping to book a hotel closer to the city centre, but as ours was a last minute booking, we were limited for choice. As it turned out, the Britannia was just perfect for us and we're now very pleased we chose it. My partner is a University student studying Fine Art, and we were on he - The price was nice and the sleep was good: these are main criteria for a good stay. The hotel itself is ugly, massive, chain-like, but people are okay, walking distance to town attractive, there is a park and a river road, so, I recommend this place!

  We arrived early,really only wanted to drop cases off but was warmly greeted and allowed up to to our rooms. We had a knock a few mins later to check everything was in order. The whole establishment was spotless and all staff very friendly, would certainly stop again and recommend to others. At the end of the road approx 400m is the bus stop that ... wat mensen zeggen » takes you straight to Princes street. £1.50 one way or £3.50 for "hop on hop off" per day. £7.50 for a Taxi.But if feeling fit could walk in about 20m - Although we could not take the room until 2pm we were able to leave our bags much earlier and have them moved to our room when it was ready so we were free to enjoy an afternoon in Edinburgh, which very much appreciated. Room was spacious and comfortable with all the facilities we needed for a short stay. Breakfast was decent and filling and at a reasonable time. The hotel is in the Haymarket area which meant a short and inexpensive train ride into the centre - so an excellent location with

  We had a fabulous one night stay at The Chester Residence. Staff were very helpful and the suite was fantastic. All rooms were very spacious (we had the 1st floor suite) and the location was only about 5 minutes walk from Haymarket and Princes Street. This was our first stay in a serviced appartment and we would highly recommend a stay here, beats ... wat mensen zeggen » a stuffy hotel any day of the week! - The location was fairly close to the center of the city (20 minute walk). The neighborhood was quiet and clean. Flat screen tv with multiple satellite channels. Kitchen well stocked daily with breakfast/snack items. Reception/housekeeping more than helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone and return to this hotel without a doubt.

  Staff were friendly on arrival and made everything very easy for myself and my partner even though it was a busy time with everyone checking in in time for Scotland Vs. Ireland at the 6 nations. Our room was ready on arrival and we couldn't have had a better room! We stayed in room 8 (highly recommended!) which, being on the top floor, had a stunn... wat mensen zeggen » ing view of the castle which matched the equally impressive interior of the room! We had an amazing sleep in the seriously comfy bed and woke up fresh - We (my husband and I) stayed in BB 3 nights. It was a very good experience. People here is very friendly and willing to help for anything. Our room is designed so amazing as Scotland style. It's also excellent with the price you pay. We strongly recommend visitors staying this beautiful and good -serviced BB.
