River Cottage Boutique B&B - Foto's

John and Gilly are fantastic hosts and make you feel really welcome. The
cottage is beautiful as is the location and is exactly the sort of place
my fiance and I love. We have stayed in many a boutique before now and I
can tell you with great confidence, that River Cottage comes extremely
high on the list, only to be beaten by Kegworth House on value for
money. Having said that the breakfast at River Cottage would take some
beating so we'll call it a draw. Wonderful stay and will definitely

Very friendly & hospitable cover staff whilst owners were away. Location perfect for surrounding area. House & garden fantastic. Good parking. Very clean, well appointed rooms. Fabulous breakfast. All the little details well thought out. Best B&B I've ever stayed at.
The hosts were very special. They made all guests feel personally important. Very quiet despite being beside A6. Comfortable beds and nice size of room. Very clean. Good parking. Beautiful river site close to hill walks and charming (tiny) village.
The owners were extremely hospitable, there was a great deal of care and attention to detail. Breakfast was very good. Setting was quiet and pretty with easy walk to two good pubs! A relaxing stay and pleasant introduction to the Peak District.
The B&B was in a beautiful location. John & Gilly were excellent hosts. We couldn't have wished for a better b&b, hosts or location. It really was top drawer. And the breakfast was stunning too. Perfect in every way. We will be back!.
Had a very nice visit, very friendly made you very welcome with nothing too much trouble. The cottage is located in a very good area just outside of Bakewell and not too far from other interesting places.
We've enjoyed everything. The gorgeous spacy room, the friendliness and hospitality of the owners, the mouthwatering breakfast, the location and enjoying a book and a lovely glass of wine in the garden.
A warm and friendly B & B with superb accommodation, facilities and food.
River Cottage is a must to visit again; we were made to feel very welcome and were sorry we had only booked for one night.
Everything, but mainly the friendly hosts and general quality of the rooms & fittings etc. The small pub just at the end of the road as recommended for the evening meal was a real gem.
Charming couple running the business . Both very happy to offer advice on surrounding activities. Everything spotless, and the fine details attended to. Decor modern but authentic.
We had the luxury double room
with the beautiful view of the garden and with a bath and bathrobes and the breakfast was really good and Gill and John made us feel really welcome.
Everything. Absolutely no complaints at all. Made to feel very welcome and all our needs were catered for with a smile. Will be returning as soon as possible.
- Very friendly staff who went out their way multiple times to ensure
our stay exceeded our expectations.
- Beautiful riverside location
- Top notch brekkie!.
Everything! Peaceful despite the A road.
breakfast was amazing! Gilly and John are the perfect hosts, I couldn't recommend this boutique b&b enough! 5stars.
The best hospitality I've ever received! Very friendly and welcoming with a great knowledge of the area. Excellent standards of food and accommodation.
welcome was very warm and informative.
food was excellent
very relaxing sitting by the river with bottle of wine.
Everything was very clean and elegant. The hosts were very kind and friendly.
Decor, breakfast, hosts' enthusiasm and obvious passion for their business.
Very welcoming owners, lovely decor and the breakfast was good quality.
Fabulous hosts.
Gilly brought drinks to me while watching the trout.
The owners who run it are so friendly, knowledgable and helpful.
Everything great - hosts, room, comfort, food and location.
Everything. The welcome, location, clean, breakfast.
Very nice welcome and excellent breakfast.
The whole stay was superb! Extra personal touches make you feel special. It was a totally relaxing experience & Gilly & John were perfect hosts!.
Nothing - apart from the recent letsbookhotel.com reviewer that complained
about road noise! We stayed in the room that would be most affected and
didnt hear a pin drop all night, let alone car noise????.
Minor point - in the room at the front of the house there is some road noise due to proximity to A6. Triple glazing addresses the issue but obviously not when windows are open for ventilation. Would not prevent me from booking the same room again though.
No sitting or lounge area; just a bedroom and a breakfast eating area.
There was nothing we didn't like!.
If I had to have something to complain about, it would be the water pressure to the shower, but that is just being picky.
Our room was triple glazed due to traffic noise, but we felt rather warm despite a fan.
Open windows were better but there will be car noise which we managed with.
there isn't anything we didn't like the only thing that would have made it a little better was it the bathroom was joined on. It wasn't a problem and would stay again in that room but was a bit worried of waking others up in night opening doors to bathroom.
The black pudding, but our hosts did not make me eat it!.
- Nothing to do with the B&B but if you need a taxi into Bakewell or
a surrounding village book it well in advance of your departure time.
Couldn't source one for love nor money on our second night.
Nothing!!!.
No bath :(.
For our particular room, it wasn't en suite, but facilities very good quality.
There was road noise if you had the windows open. The triple glazing took care of that.
Nothing.
Double bed quite narrow and short. Exacerbated by the bed end not allowing a 6'2" man to stretch.
The double glazing was an super sound proofer BUT when fresh air needed a main highway literally feet away is disruptive.
