  My friend g and I went to visit friends, in the 1st week of December over the double bank holidays. We have both been to Madrid before. G speaks some Spanish, I don'T.We booked separately. I had a single room + ensuite shower, washbasin but no toilet. He had a twin bed room with washbasin but no toilet or shower. We found Roberto Rodriguez and his... wat mensen zeggen » son and other staff courteous and very very helpful, including taking messages The location is very very accessible, it is close to several Metro sta - Location is fantastic. WiFi in room was very welcome and unexpected in a small pension like this one. The hosts, husband and wife, spoke only Spanish but were very friendly and helpful. The decor of this pension is a jump back in time by at least 50 years, if you like that sort of thing (which I did).

  Fantastic location (you can walk everywhere from there), perfect facilities and lots of kitchen utensils, excellent and efficient staff, easy check in/check out process, extremely clean, amazing terrace, no noise and black out blinds for great sleep. Comfy sofas and two TVs. Brand new lift to 7th floor. Absolutely perfect would definitely stay her... wat mensen zeggen » e again! - Central location, didn't use the metro at all in 5 days. On the 7th floor (with a lift) so although in the middle of everything it was very quiet. If you didn't close the blinds you can see the sky whilst lying in bed, nice.Fully equiped kitchen.   Although the hostel have simple furniture and no breakfast, we still feel comfortable to stay in this hostel since good values of the price. The location is right in the city center, and it has lots of restaurants, stores and attractions. All the distances you can reach just by walking. We save lots of money on tickets since the transportation is ... wat mensen zeggen » much expensive in Madrid. Also, the worker (or maybe manger) is super funny and friendly. He speaks English with a Spanish accent, a little bit diffic - I've stayed at many hostels all around Spain by now, about 4 of them in Madrid alone, and this was by far one of THE best service we've ever had. Super clean. The price for the location is unbeatable. The Wifi was great. Outstanding service by attendant who assisted us. At one point I forgot my cell phone on the couch in the little lobby and he picked it up and left in our room with a note. How he knew it was ours, no idea. (Maybe process of elimination.) But so glad he did! Will definitely go

  We spent just one night at the Hostal Macarena, when passing Madrid on our way back from holiday. It's a lovely place in the heart of Madrid (Plaza Mayor is just behind the corner!), surrounded by many bars, restaurants and little stores. The room is quite small, but well equipped and clean. Staff doesn't speak very good English, but is very nice.... wat mensen zeggen » I'd recommend this place especially for young people - as it's situated in the very city centre, everybody's partying and so it's quite noisy till la - Location, location, location! Two steps from the plaza Mayor and many other attractions, located on a little street with animation. Staff is courteous and helpful. They kept our luggage all day so we could walk around freely untill we left to take the train. Room was clean, confortable and big enough. Very good quality for the price. I recommend this hotel wihtout any hesitation.

  This is an ideal Hostal in which to stay - the central location is excellent with many of the major sights within walking distance. The staff were friendly, helpful and extremely courteous. The rooms were a good size considering it is an old converted building. The rooms were clean and serviced every day. The staff is very polite and helpful. It cost its price and value. I will recomend it to my friend.
