The street is very busy day and night and, although the room had two double-glazed windows, some noise could still be heard. Very clean, small bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. Perfect location, super close/walking distance to everything. Comfortable for a weekend stay in Madrid and perfect for quick relaxation during the day and sleeping at night.
We were also given the choice between the interior or exterior room. We chose exterior, which had a balcony.

1. Very friendly staff.
2. Very clean.
3. Reliable wi-fi in the rooms
4. Position: close to many historical sights - Sol, Real palace etc.;
Direct commuter trains from Sol to Chamartin and Atocha stations as well as to El Escorial. On the way from/to Barajas airport it's better to make change at Nuevos Ministerios station.

THis is a tiny facility with intelligent use of space in smaller quarters. The beds were quite good, the bathroom was Great. The front desk was very helpful in getting around and taking public transportation to needed areas.

Very nice situated in the centre of Madrid, close to the metro "opera". Shops and diner places nearby.
It's a small room (not to small) but if your main goal is to discover the city, who needs a bigger one? The shower was great.

Mooie, nette kamer met airco en gedateerde doch propere badkamer. De locatie is werkelijk fantastisch: hartje centrum. - Elke dag schone handdoeken. Elke dag werd erg grondig gedweild! Vriendelijk behulpzaam personeel. Eigenaresse kwam ons midden in de nacht wekken voor de taxi!! Als we teruggaan naar Madrid verblijven we weer hier.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, 24h reception. Rooms were small but cosy, and with plenty of space to put your luggage/stuff, big tables (if you want to use your laptop etc), minifridge. With the windows closed there is no problem with the noise from the busy street on which it is located.

Location was great - in the historic city centre, you can enjoy a walk to many places of interest. Opera metro station is just 1 minute from hostel. 24 hours supermarket is almost next door. Location is fantastic. WiFi in room was very welcome and unexpected in a
small pension like this one. The hosts, husband and wife, spoke only
Spanish but were very friendly and helpful. The decor of this pension is
a jump back in time by at least 50 years, if you like that sort of thing

I've stayed at many hostels all around Spain by now, about 4 of them in Madrid alone, and this was by far one of THE best service we've ever had. Super clean. The price for the location is unbeatable. The Wifi was great. Outstanding service by attendant who assisted us. At one point I forgot my cell phone on the couch in the little lobby and he picked it up and left in our room with a note. How he knew it was ours, no idea. (Maybe process of elimination.) But so glad he did! Will definitely go

We loved the cleanliness of the Hostal. We also enjoyed the excellent
location and walking distance to historical sites and museums. Our
host, Luisa was excellent, helpful and very friendly. She was there to
greet us and allowed us to come back for an extra day after our train
to Paris was cancelled. Her brother was also very helpful and friendly.

We would come back to the same Hostal without hesitation next time we
visit Madrid. -
Loved the location, Hostal Mayor was close to major attractions such as
Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. It was also very near the underground.
Shower had great pressure and the rooms were very clean. In addition to
this the view from the balcony was also great. Over all a nice
comfortable place to stay, we enjoyed it and would recommend to others

I should say this is a perfect Hostal! Location is perfect, 5 minutes to
Sol station or Gran Via! Staff are sooo nice and helpful, giving me a
lot of advice and help me resolve the problem of travel adapter! And
also need to mention, the design and decoration of the room, surprised
and considerate and sweet! With the price and location, I do think this
Hostal deserves highly recommended.
