  After a day on the road coming to the "Vineyard" is like paradise. We were upgraded to the garden suite at no further cost and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Literally 10 minute drive from Stellenbosch and 3 minutes away from Somerset West this is a good location for outings - or just to relax in the lovely garden and on the spacious pool. A really... wat mensen zeggen » good choice to stay. Garden and House are well cared for and could be just out of "House & Garden". Our host Teresa is a happy recipient of your - Outstanding. Theresa and Coete are utterly charming hosts: they gave me medicine and helped nurse me when I had sunstroke, gave my wife a blanket to keep her warm at the rugby and lent us their gps to get there. Beautiful accommodation, really comfy bed and option to dine on site. More like staying with friends than a B&B.

  We arrived late (7:00pm) and the place was locked up and we were not expected. The host eventually answered his phone and said that he was not expecting anybody as nobody had advised him of the booking. He gave us the honeymoon suite to make up for the misunderstanding and we were thoroughly impressed with the hotel and everything worked out perfe... wat mensen zeggen » ctly and exceeded our best imaginations. - Great location close to the beach and restaurants. Wonderful view of the sea from the open deck. Very amiable hosts. Good braai facilities including wood, charcoal and firelighters. Vouchers for breakfast at the restaurant next door; 60 rands in value PP which is enough for a full english, an extra round of toast, coffee and enough left over for a tip for the friendly waiter.

  The backpack was a really comfortable and welcoming place to stay. The common areas were laid back & relaxed and the place was very clean. Location was great & just a short walk from the top of Long Street and some good restaurants. Waterfront was a decent walk or a fairly quick taxi ride. Compared to some friends who were staying at numerous backpackers in and around Long Street, this sounded superior & I would definitel - It was my second time at this hostel and I came back three years later because I liked it. Apart from it being excellent for what is officially a backpackers place I really appreciate the attitude of owners and staff who are supporting community projects and take recycling seriously, something that is still not very wide spread in South Africa. Excellent Sandwiches and breakfast.

  The B&B is in the middle of the village in an old house just across the church and within walking distance to most of the restaurants. If you love a modern room you will not feel comfortable. We felt very welcomed, although we only booked two hours prior to our arrival. The host gave us some tips for restaurants nearby. - This lovely old home with high pressed ceilings and a lovey view of the mountains and church was right in the middle of town. We could walk everywhere and the advice on places to visit from our very friendly hosts was great. The breakfast was also very good and set us up for a day of touring.
