  Unlike many other visitors to Koyasan we decided to stay two nights and to enjoy the temple lodging even more. Although it was still winter (snow and below zero temperatures), the room was well heated. All the other areas of the temple were not heated, but after being in the onsen this caused no problem whatsoever. We also joined the two morning c... wat mensen zeggen » eremonies (at 6am), which were really interesting. The highlight of our stay was the food. As vegetarians traveling in Japan you have to look for trul - We booked a room with private toilet, so we had an advantage over the others. The temple is unbelievable beautiful. Everywhere you turn you just will be astonished about all that figures, beautiful rooms, relics etc. Also they have 3 beautiful gardens designed by a japanese star garden designer. We participated in the morning prayer which was a totally new experience and i can recommend that to everyone. Also we took the calligraphy class.
