  Over the years I have stayed at many hotels, motels, B&B's and guest houses, from Borneo to Costa Rica, & whilst I have been fortunate enough to stay in some truly lovely places, it was always the facilities and/or location that made them special, rather than the owners. However the Manoir de la Foulquetiere has now broken that trend, and ... wat mensen zeggen » it will certainly be hard to write this review in an unbiased way, as we totally fell in love with Rosemary, Richard, Alfie (dog), Batty (cat), Purdy - This is a truly exceptional place. First and foremost the owners are charming, friendly and helpful without being even slightly obtrusive. The breakfast awaiting us each morning (croissants, bread, fruit, yoghurt, homemade jams) was perfect. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated (we stayed in the lovely converted pigeonnier, which has its own kitchenette). And last but not least the buildings and surrounding countryside are breath-taking, as perfectly French as it's possible to im
