  We booked this hostel because it was the cheapest we could find and didn't really expect much. BUT this was our best stay so far, Louis is extremely friendly and helpful, we felt at home at his hostel and if we didn't have a flight to Belem, we would have stayed longer. The rooms are basic, it's a hostel for travelers, not a hotel, but clean and cosy. W - Great hostel with a very civilized atmosphere and very helpful staff. Some only speak portugese, but they try everything to help you. Louis, the owner, is a great guy, very knowledgable, speaks many languages and goes out of his way to make your stay in Rio the best possible. Depending on what is on, he might take you to a club or spend a sunday at the beach with the whole hostel.   Everything in the hotel was superb. Of course it is a bit expensive, but you are really treated like you "own the place". The staff is just perfect. The hotel is basically a beautiful old house, with a brazilian decoration of its finest taste, and a breathtaking view of the city. Rooms are clean and classy. Just remarkable. We highly recommend it ... wat mensen zeggen » for couples without children - and don't forget to bring your own champagne to drink next to the pool around the garden. Staff will chill it up for yo - Incredible place. Couldn't believe how much luxury/value/etc. We were getting for the money. Felt like a real steal. Would definitely stay there again if I was ever back in Buzios. Location, staff, everything couldn't be better.
